Questionable Romeo y Julieta Churchhills Box

A friend aquired this last summer. I have never seen this before. The Habanos chevron and the warranty seal was not applied to the box but instead given with the box with the sticker cover still on the back of the seals. The cigars look fine and the bands look good. The box has no date code so if it is real then it would have had to been taken out of a factory before everything was applied. Also checking Trevor's website the first letter on the warranty seal is a J and that dates it to 2009 but the Habanos chevron dates it to pre-2004. That brings us to the chevron which looks fishy to me because the edges are gold and on Trevor's site the edges are white. What do yall think?

That's how lifeguards, bartenders, and various other Cuban people sell fake cigars in Cuba. Obviously it does not mean 100% fake cigars, but red flags are very big and very red here.

Sorry bro.

yeah my friend got them in nicaragua from a "trusted" person...I had a good feeling these were fake after he sent me these pictures. I wanted to post it here so I have some back up when I tell them they are fake. Oh well

No Gold 'Churchill band'

You never know these may end up tasting better than some RyJ churchills that has been coming out of Cuba the last few years!

Every cloud has a silver lining :D

According to trevor's site the gold band is only for the tubos box not a normal dress box. Still I don't think they are real because of the discrepancy between the date of the warranty seal and the habanos chevron.

Oh, well - you may have some pretty good, mighty fine Nicaraguans there! And as was stated earlier they could be very, very tasty. I once acquired years and years ago some El Rey Del Mundo Tainos. While they may not have been authentic they were, nevertheless, absolutely Heavenly in flavor.

I see a lot of black market sticks just like this. There are specialists at bringing cigars, boxes, seals, etc out of factories. Most black market I see also have the old seal, possibly because it's easier to get or fake.

Then there are consolidators who put them together and export them.

I'd smoke them and see how they are. Also very good possibility they are actual Cuban Churchills but may not necessarily be RyJ. Seen that before as well.
