Posting from Havana, Cuba

Tomorrow Friday I'll be off to Havana for 4 weeks.

While there, I'll be meeting International friends gathering for the Encuentro de Amigos de Partagas 19 to 23 November.

I look forward to meet up with Rob Ayala and his Australian mates again, with Art, Marc, Keith and the other good Canadians, with Rob, Dara and the Irish contingent and many other friends from all over the world.

I also look forward to having an interesting and fun time, good conversations and memorable experiences travelling the island.

The idea of a trip to the Vuelta Abajo with some friends has been set in motion and I will organize it with Punch Joe, a good & trusted Cuban friend.

If possible I will endeavour to update this post as often as possible and maybe even add some pictures.

It all depends on Internet availability ... so keep checking for more posts from Havana or this post being updated.

For now : All is ready for take off.

Hurricane Sandy passed last night through eastern Cuba and brought wind & rain to Havana, but other than cause a bumpy ride the last few hours it shouldn't be a factor.

So - next post from Havana !

not sure how well you know ajay...(i believe)he will be there for the partagas dinner...dr cafe sometimes twice a day.

i usually hang out in miramar...not much in viejo that interests me anymore...say hi to osmany farrah santo yolanda and the rest for me...dont think i will make it this november...not sure about jan either.

I'll be again staying privately in Miramar/Playa, my favourite location for quiet, pleasant living and access to Melia Habana and Comodoro for cigars and Internet, a very nice area, foodwise as well.

I'll certainly say hello to all of them rollers plus some more ... and pick up your orders too ( only the pre-paid ones :-))

Very cool, Nino. Jealous that you get to spend so much wonderful time there - but, I guess that just leads me to look forward to my retirement more! LOL.

Looking forward to seeing you there after we arrive on the 19th, and yes, it sounds like lots in motion for trips and gatherings! I'm gonna need a recovery vacation after I return home!
