Lotusguy Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 That's the one - got a couple of '99 boxes that are just out of this world good. OK, I admit, not really a fair comparison to a 2007 GM Lonsdales were discontinued in 2002. From the CCW, found here: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Bol|ivar Bolívar Lonsdales Cervantes 42 x 165 (6.5") Lonsdale Cigars: Handmade. Bands: Standard band A. Packaging: B25. Status: A pre-1960 release. Discontinued 2002.
jedipastor Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Guess I'm in the minority here, but the few I've smoked (mostly '08s) were medium-bodied at best -- more like the Royal Corona. Nothing like the CE or PC, or even the CG or BF. that said, they had good flavor, just not as much of it s I'd like. Planning to age the rest and see if they get more flavorful and maybe even stronger as many CCs seem to.

Professor Twain Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I'll pile on, these are not a strong/full bodied Bolivar. The Lonsdales are strong. To me the Gold Medal is a smooth, creamy Bolivar. I like them.

I like them. Yes, I have had the Bolivar Lonsdales, ten years ago, but have not smoked Havana Lonsdales for some time due to so many being plugged. To be honest I don't mind if the Gold Medals are strong or not just as long as they are good. Just that so many reviews I read about, them when they first came out, said they were strong - maybe people were smoking them strightn out of the box with no humidor time?
GWN Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 If I could only smoke one cigar, this is it. Truly my fave.
kittipong Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 any opinion on BGM comissioned by Wolter 2004? was it better than 2007 - 2008?
Lotusguy Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 any opinion on BGM comissioned by Wolter 2004? was it better than 2007 - 2008? They go for about 6x the price of the later ones so they better be fantastic...
Rays98GoVols Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Have had 2 BGM's from a - MUA SEP 09 - ten box and loved both, earthy and rich but I wouldn't say anything like a rugged and heavy as R&J Cazadores etc, just a great smoke and an awesome size, almost the perfect size i recon I have the same 10 count with the same Box Code. I really like them, but not as much as a Bolivar Belicoso Fino...
