It’s “Review Competition Week” again and I wanted to do something special this time. Last year I did a comparison review of an ’08 and ’10 Ramon Allones Small Club Corona which you can find here: RASCC vs. RASCC

Due to my collection topic I wanted to try one of the pride and joy’s of my collection, something special to me and something that I hadn’t smoked yet. I considered my ’03 Partagas 898’s, or my Monty Grand Edmundo’s, but after thinking it over some more it was clear that there was only one clear choice. Or should I say three clear choices?

Serie du Connaisseur No. 2: LSM AGO 07

The reason I chose this cigar to be the first out of the three, is simple: it was the first Serie du Connaisseur cigar I smoked and fell in love with it directly!

The cigar smells delicious and the pre-draw shows good quality aged tobacco. The wrapper is a little rough and the wind outside made it hard to light, but the draw was perfect.

1/3: The cigar starts out rather spicy, it has more of a kick than I imagined or remember. I was expecting elegant aged flavors, but it's more full-flavored. The burn from the troublesome lighting has corrected itself perfectly & proves why slim cigars are such quality and underrated smokes. I pace myself to smoke slower as I notice I'm rushing this beauty.

2/3: The smoke has calmed down immensely and has become much more enjoyable, if not a little more docile. The fighter it suggested to be in the beginning has become more of a laid-back lover.

3/3: The cigar has gone from docile to dead really fast! It has gone from fight, to freeze, to flight during its three phases and I'm a little disappointed by its end. I hope I can blame this on the bad weather, but maybe this box just needs a little more age on it.

Now that the baseline is set, I can't wait to compare No. 1 & No. 3 to this SdC No. 2!
