Hello all,

I was referred to this forum by a friend who is a regular here. I have only been smoking cigars from about 12 months, starting with ncs and now smoking mostly ccs. I am worried that

a) My humidor is not in good enough condition to maintain the sticks that I am putting into it. Only yesterday did I attach a Hydrometer into it and it read about 65% humidity. I wiped the inside of the box thoroughly with a paper towel that had been dabbed in distilled water, and I resaturated the humidifier. Also I worry,

B) I won't be able to continue to afford to smoke these ccs. Lately, my buddy has been throwing me a few good sticks here and a few there, but I have yet to even purchase a box of anything for myself.

Yesterday I smoked an H Uppman 2011 LE and it was glorious. Today I smoked some garbage thats been in my humidor for about six months. I pulled the label off when I cut it and I can't even recall what it was. Only that it was in a plastic sleeve with a pricetag of $10 on it. Yuckkkk. Maybe there are good cheap ncs out there that I would like but I am losing my patience in trying to find them. I am particularly fond of the Bolivar Petite Coronas, and expect to be getting a half a box of them pretty soon.

My humidor is a cheap $20 cedar box I got from Thompson cigars in some kind of bundled package. I really can't afford a new one, and I am down to less than 5 sticks so I am just going to try to make this work. What I really want is a good nice smoke that I can get boxes of for no more than $120. Even if I have to order only 10 at a time, I would prefer it over going to my local cigar shop and buying a box of crap. If anyone has any recommendations, I am open to all. As for my taste in cigars, anything comparable in size and strength to a Bolivar Petite Corona would be right up my alley. Thanks, I look forward to becoming a part of this community.

Welcome!

I also keep my cigars at 65%, I used to live in a place where without any humidification my humidor would be at 72% and higher... it totally ruins all the subtlety a cigar can give.
