Hello,

My name is Rex and I am a total newb when it comes to CC's. I have been smoking for a couple years now and my humidor is 95% NC. I was on the anti-CC bandwagon for a long time and just believed it was mostly hype until I was gifted a few CC's that rocked my world. The first one was the Bolivar Petite Corona and the other was the PSD4. Both of this cigars were better than 80% of all the NC's I have ever had and made me really wonder if I was missing out. I still haven't had many cigars from that region but that will change soon. Its good to meet some new people. My home board is BOTL but I plan on frequenting here a little and learning some new things along with making some new friends.

Howdy & Welcome!

Out of curiosity, why were you so anti CC before ever even trying one? What did you base that stance on?

I have a lot of friends that have always told me that the quality was horrible and there really wasn't anything special about them except that they are made in Cuba. Since I had really never had one I just took their word for it.

To be honest it still doesn't make a whole lot of since to me. The Bolivar I had was pure heaven and I have had a lot of NC's. There is nothing I have ever smoked that came close to that cigar in my mind. I pretty much felt that way about the PSD4 I had as well. I am sure there are bad Cubans out there but the couple I was gifted were out right amazing.

Don't get me wrong I have NC's that I love just as much but I sure can't find any that have that certain profile that the CC's have. There is a certain balance of flavors in the Cuban that just hits all the right notes with me. I am going to start exploring a little because I am sure just like with NC's the CC's probably aren't all created equal.
