demiurgic Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Humidor Obesity is getting me down as people are still scrambling to thicken it up. WHEN is this fad going to pass?? (along with the general cigar strength of "strong and Stronger" atleast in the NC world) Just wondering what you boys and girls are smoking these days in the 42 RG area, (38 to 44 max) and something that is pleasantly balanced perhaps? Any current production, easy to find smokes you recommend?( No LE's and RE's please, unless they are Epic) Just looking for Habanos really, but NC's are welcome as well, but they gotta be Epic as well. Aloha~ PS - - Always room for a short poem: Sublime Tobacco ... Diving in Hookas, glorious in a pipe, When tipp'd with amber, wooing the caress More dazzlingly when daring in full dress: Yet thy true lovers more admire by far Thy naked beauties - Give me a cigar! - Byron
hainsworth Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 If I want a want a reasonably small cigar, I usually go for the Punch Coronations in the tubos. If you can get some from around 2009 in the silver tubos, they are great! If you can't, the current ones in the green tubos are almost as good, but I've found them to be occasionally inconsistent.
Hazza Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 You can't beat Bolivar Petit Coronas. Very consistent, easy to find and ready to go straight out of the box.

mk05 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It's not a fad. Some blends just only work in larger ring gauge. Get used to it. It's not like the NC ideology where you have to fill a line of cigar offering and you fill in the girth with some more volado. Really do not understand the angst. There are plenty of smaller and/or skinnier offerings. Not too hard to find and tasty...going for short and/or skinny:02 RAPC 07 RASCC (Some boxes may suck. Really hit or miss year) 03 RG Pannie Extra 04-07 PLPC 06-07 ERDM CS 99 Boli lonsdale 03 Partagas Short 05 the tiny Punch in tubos, not sure what theyre called. Current production: JL PC PL Pannie Monte #3, #5 Boli PC

Guess all those wide, imbalanced, ligero laden BAM BAM! NC's from Nicargua et all, I've been smoking....have just laid to waste my precious taste buds......one time too many Nice list there, I'll ask Rob which ones of these smokes he might in stock. Looks like he's not going to have most of them, and hunting for "precious" Habanos from years past is my least favorite hobby. It's like shopping for a pair of jeans in my book, lol! You try half the rack and maybe, JUST maybe they are not fake. ....(I meant, maybe the crotch is not too low) Still, it's always nice to find a good pair now and again. Thanks! PS - I'm having trouble getting current production Shorts, and you're recommending 03's! ...damn....Guess I have some jeans to try out.
canadianbeaver Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I am currently loving the Cohiba Siglo III.
CaptainQuintero Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 There is still plenty to enjoy I'm loving: Monte #1 Monte #3 Monte Especial #2 Upmann petit corona Upmann Mag 46 QDO Corona Boli Petit Corona There are still buckets of delete sticks that are around that you can pick up, currently loving Upmann Grand Coronas Sancho Molinos QDO Panetelas LGC MdO #3 Ramon Allones Ramonitas Don't always belive the loud noises, have a look around and there is plenty of deleted stock sitting around
demiurgic Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Some great recommendations there! Thanks everyone!
khamy Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Partagas Shorts are my go to and i've found them to be reasonably consistent. I to have been wanting to explore more and more of the smaller cigars and have found some joy also with the plpc as well. I tried the H.Upmann half corona's recently and they were pretty good off the bat but was extremely quick smoke and got hot easily - probably cause i puff to frequently (took the dogs for a walk while smoking them). Looking forward to seeing what i can dig up when i'm in your back yard in a months time in terms of NC's.
