mk05 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I would like to see Wildcat of RGIII and Moss at some point.
Freefallguy Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 imagine that. a cowgirl fan revelling in an injury suffered by a player from another team. still, an injured rg3 is ten times more valuable than a fit romo. Ken Ken Ken… Before your rejoinders become truly scurrilous let’s go to the tape… No where did I revel in an injured player. The kid is the same age as my eldest; I have no desire to see him hurt. That's just wrong. The photos were merely illustrate, “upon further review” if you will, my post from SEP 11 that the kid is going to take some hard knocks when he plays in the big show. Two weeks ago the kid said on local news that he was going to continue to play his game even if it means carrying him off on a stretcher. Really? That’s what Snyder and the rest of ‘skins isipidom want to hear? Do you not think that opposing D’s hear that and say “Oh well, boys will be boys?” Here’s a quote after RG3PO’s concussion from Andy Behrens, Yahoo! Sports: “We've discussed the elevated injury risk with Griffin several times — it's an unavoidable issue for any player his size, with his rare dual-threat ability. The kid is clearly a badass, but he takes an awful beating each week. Let's just hope he can be available for the Week 6 match-up with Minnesota. And let's hope someone can convince him that in the NFL, situational self-preservation is allowed. It's OK to slide, to step out of bounds, to throw the ball away.” Until he learns to play smarter he is going to get pummelled; the question is and remains will Shanahan/Snyder stand by as he is helped/carted off the field each week?
Ken Gargett Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 okay, i've been on fraser island the last 8 days and so completely away from any news or contact whatsoever - except i did track down a bloke with an ipad to get the skins vikings game nd saw THAT touchdown. i return to see just what our friend from the cowgirls had to say and ... zip, nada, blank, nothing. seriously? bring on those cowgirls!
Livo Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Ken - When do you typically get to see the game/score? I'm guessing they're normally on at 3am Brisbane time and I don't want to post anything on here and ruin it for you. Go Skins!
Ken Gargett Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 today's game was. i don't have cable (i waste enough time - if i could watch the entire season then i'd be in serious trouble, though we get 3-4 games a week free to air live). had my sister tape it and went over and watched it. frustrating game. how many injuries have the poor skins got to cop? mind you, not turning it over so much, after being so good so far, would help. and so would having someone/anyone who might occasionally make a tackle. thought rg3 pretty amazing again. who knows had we not had that last turnover? but to get that close to the giants in ny was a great effort. rg3 is just so exciting to watch. and the pregame show i sawfinally had obama and romney agreeing on something!

There were definitely a lot of things they could have done better leading up to the end, but to give up that long touchdown after rg3 led them down the field was rough to say the least. Im not normally one for moral victories, but it was good to see them play the giants tough in ny. Just too bad they couldn't get the win like they did with the old rg3 did last year (I think it's hilarious that rex grossman is the third too).
Ken Gargett Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 if i may, i can't resist posting the quote from fred davis (before the achilles heel disaster) and forgive me if i have morphed one or two quotes into the one - i saw it immediately after the vikings game and in the euphoria, may have done that, but i do know davis was responsible for the latter bit. this was after the 76 yard touchdown to beat the vikings. "it is not like he is usain bolt or anything but he is the black jesus'. even i think that might be a smidge of hyperbole.
anacostiakat Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Well you can't win football games with that many turnovers. You also can't win football games with the defensive backfield they have.
Ken Gargett Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 they have a defensive backfield? i look fo rward to seeing it soon. utterly hopeless. they really are almost a one man band at the moment.
mk05 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Well you can't win football games with that many turnovers. You also can't win football games with the defensive backfield they have. Watch the Patriots much? Haha, we are ttttterrible.
perfectform Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Well, RG3 finally had his best, and most telling test of his football life yesterday. He passed with flying colors. This kid has got it all going on. Maturity, class, leadership. I wouldn't trade this kid for 100 sham newtons. Ken, I would be ecstatic as a Redskins fan about now. The future is very bright. That being said, I believe yesterdays game was a testament to the greatest clutch QB in the NFL (possibly of all time) and easily a top 5 wideout coming through yet again. Good game. P.S. I'm no cowboy fan but I love seeing them beat Sham @ his place.
khomeinist Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 passed the test? The Skins lost. By your logic, that means RGIII failed.....
perfectform Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Well they did lose in spite of RG3. Not because of him. I will cut slack to rookies in terms of W/L's. Who wouldn't? What do you think about his performance yesterday Khom?
mk05 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You know, I like how athletic Cam Newton is, but he's turning into Lebron really fast with all these excuses. It's the Belichick belief. Dumb kids making too much money, it goes to their heads...and once the talent doesn't seem to be on the level with the compensation, the panic button goes off, and then it's everyone else's fault.
Ken Gargett Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 passed the test? The Skins lost. By your logic, that means RGIII failed..... i think the point is that they would have lost by a truckload more without rg3. it was a fabulous peformance by him. not quite enough to win but amazing nonetheless. had they not gven away stupid penalties on two plays - one a touchdown and the other a long run at a vital time, who knows... and yes, very exciting to be a skins fan. if this kid stays fit, he could be anything. HTTR.
khomeinist Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Might be more exciting to be a Skins fan when y'all get a defense. Any qb needs 2-3 years of data to make an assessment. I will say that the qb for my team, Buffalo, is clearly horrible. An overpaid journeyman backup. Ouch.
perfectform Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 He looked pretty good didn't he? I didn't see the game but from the stat sheet he looked pretty damned impressive. Against the lowly Eagles (poor Andy Reid) but nonetheless, still against a divisional opponent. Sham, on the other hand, not so much.
tmac77 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Impressive performance by RGIII yesterday. The TD pass to Santana Moss was 65 yards in the air!!
