Just finished one from three singles I bought to try them out before commiting to a box. What an absolute treat! There is tons of sweetness in the stick. PL caramel, milk chocolate, no harshness whatsoever... You surely know this is made from top notch tobacco. I am really impressed and I'd rate among the top 5 cigars I smoked this years.

I know Cap. Quintero is not a huge fan of these, but has anyone else tries them? Thoughts?

EDIT: Ops, wrong title! I mean "PL Regalias RE UK"

An excellent cigar, one of the few REs that I enjoyed and thought, yeah, that was worth it.

Nice toffee sweetness, with that Pl hay flavour.

I like this cigar. It is reminiscent of the Por Larranaga Robusto RE Asia, but I find it to be a milder, more nuanced smoke. It lacks the pepper and tannins of the Robusto, but is rolled from excellent tobaccos. Over time, I expect these to sweeten and show that classic PL caramel character. If you like PL, you'll find these quite agreeable.

We are talking about the PL regalias de londres here correct?

If so, I've got a box resting that I've been waiting to sample. Gorgeous cigars, and if they're already showing more finesse than the Asia RE Robusto then that sounds right up my alley!

It certainly is more refined at this young age than the Robustos were back in 2008. I am enjoying a lot the Robustos right now but the Regalias tasted more "ready".

I decided to pull the trigger and got a box.

Have had several lately, last one last night, and can only share your opinion in the opening post.

You'll be happy wtih that box.

I agree with what has been said. I have a box of these and had to bury them in the back of my winodor to keep my hands of them.. They are THAT good! Hunter & Franko sure knows how to make REs.. ;)

Just smoked one this evening. Wow what a cigar. I have to echo what everyone is saying. Will have to look for a box.

Is this similar to the Alemania, or moreso Encantos?

I can only comment on the Encantos. Different beast all together. I have had a PL weekend where I smoked both the Encantos and Regalias. The Regalias were head and shoulders above the Encantos in terms of flavor profile. All the usual PL flavors were there but were accompanied with a nice kick. The Encantos I felt needed more aging to reach the flavor maturity which the Regalias showed.

Thanks, was it richer, as in palate coating? Wondering if this has more seco or MT. Nice to hear that this PL has some strength. I guess I'll have to look around.

Indeed! It was rich and had chewy buttery smoke (if this makes sense). One of my top 5 smokes in 2012. Hope the Encantos follow suit and reach that level next year
