australian commentator, ray 'rabbits' warren (best known for rugby league and perhaps where he should stay) - when they held the medal ceremony for the girl's 4x100 freestyle. after they finished the aussie anthem for the gold -

"great rendition of the anthem from the girls. it was almost as though they knew the words perfectly".

it is the national anthem, rabbits. you'd hope that they might know the words.

this is the same man who gave us the classic quote from a league game where both sides had players down with injuries - "injuries everywhere. the field looks like the battlefield of trafalgar".

During the opening ceremony they made a comment about an Indonesian athlete given RP$800,000,000 for the Olympics which is only AUD$8000 (check your math channel 9, I think you'll find it's AUD$80,000)

They also introduced the 6ft 10in Lebron James, not sure what shoes he was wearing or if he was sporting an afro but any basketball nut will tell you he's 6ft 8in.

I was watching the swimming today.. im not sure of the commentators names but.. it sounded like they both had been out for a few swift pints at lunch!! :buddies: Ha.

There was a few times where they had me in stitches.. in fact these two were more entertaining than the swimming!

One quote (i cant remember word for word but along these lines) was when the camera went into the audience and trained upon one of the swimming coaches, or someone to do with the tea, who happened to be an elderly lady.... one of the commentators said "ahhh and theres.... (and said her name) wearing the grey cap.............. erm, i mean hair"

classic!

I was watching the Russian vs Chinese in beach volleyball yesterday. One of the Russian women was called "Vasina".

It was an upset apparently as the Russians 'were unfancied". Personally, I disagreed with that comment.

Highlights, the Russians were leading in a set when "Vasina was unable to widen the gap".

At another point, the chinese failed to score due to a "Vasina blockage".

My 7 year old was wondering why I was gigling like a child.

Maybe because I am one..
