Coincidentally the man himself is pictured on the front cover smoking a cigar. Jay-Z is a particular fan of cuban cigars as well. The album itself: When it came out (released in septemer 11th 2001) it was like no album i had heard before, being a big hip hop fan this was one album i can remember having a major impact and influence on how hip hop and rap sounded from the post 90s era. I consider Jay-Z to be one of the most talented lyricists alive and i thoroughly recommend giving this record a listen. So thats my favourite album to smoke while enjoying a nice siglo iv or a psd4... Great way to spend an hour. Whats yours?
chr0nic Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It's funny you mention Hov, because I made a parody of his clip 'Empire State of Mind' for my work ( ) and for an add-in I superimposed myself sniffing a SigVI next to Jay-Z in tribute. I love a WIDE, WIDE variety of music- from Gangsta Rap to Dubstep, Dylan to Disturbed- so don't hate on me for my selection but... I chill with cigars to Amy Winehouse. Soulful music, easy listening, instantly brings me back to when I first fell in love with Cubans... it's a shame that her passing means I'm now limited to her somewhat limited discography. This is a good thread, I was only wondering two days ago what other people rocked out too while smoking... I'll keep an eye out here!

Your right my man, she will be missed. Its a shame such talent. I was too guilty of fueling the tabloid towards her demise reading up all that junk on her. Musically i listen to everything from Jazz, Norman Brown, George Benson, Incognito & Brand New Heavies to alternative/rock, Stone Roses (more so recently, because of the reunion), Pearl Jam & Radiohead to classic rock to rolling stones, I kind of like WAR right now. I even listen to House/Techno but that kind of music does not work with smoking a cigar.

Always seems to fit with cigar smoking and whiskey drinking. Also, Buena Vista Social Club radio is great for a summer evening with a cigar and a mojito!

I spent years listening to rap and developed a bit of a knack for rhyming... I should write something up for FoH! It would certainly give me an excuse to smoke a lot of cigars!
