If nothing else its something you can sell later on for an over-inflated price so you can buy more sticks down the road.

With 10K boxes numbering 100K cigars with 20K of each cigar (monster)...you're going to be waiting a long time to sell that box at over inflated prices.

Went to the local b&m yesterday and they said they're all sold out and there's a waiting list for restock  Are these actually good or are they just hyped cause of limited production? Seems like any hobby you choose, there's always something that's "limited" or "hyped" or both.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, while limited, the Little Monsters are limited to a whopping 10,00 boxes. They are being sent out in multiple shipments, so not retailers got them at the same time, and the initial allotments were small. I don't think you will have a hard time finding them in a few months time as additional boxes are shipped and inventory gradually builds. The initial shipments got scooped up by those anticipating this release - I unfortunately was one of them - but there are online retailers that currently have them in stock. Oh...and I definitely wouldn't be paying more than the $75 MSRP + shipping for them.

I'm not a fan of all the Tat Monsters...actually...just two of them to be honest. The Frank (which IMHO is the best so far from this series so far) and The Wolfman. But you have to buy the whole box to get them, so I ended up with 5 boxes just to get 10 each of the Monsters I enjoyed that are now long gone from my humidor. Honestly though...while these newly produced cigars share similarities to the original production smokes, they are not quite the same. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a different vintage crop.

But with all this talk about the Little Monster Series though, I find it strange that, at least in my opinion, people are missing the boat on a better limited release Tatuaje cigar...The Boris. While not technically part of the Monster Series, it was released at about the same time The Frank was released. The Boris was named after Boris Karloff who played Frankenstein, and is designated as being part of the Actor Series. Actually, it's the only cigar in the Actor Series. The recently released Little Boris is exclusive to the Corona Cigar Co. in Florida and in far smaller quantities than the Little Monsters. The Little Boris comes in boxes of 10 cigars (like the Little Monsters) with only 500 boxes being made. At least thus far. IMHO...The Boris was second to The Frank when it was released. The Frank was just a better tasting cigar, more complex and "frankly" more exceptional. However, after 3+ years, The Frank is now going downhill and on the decline while The Boris continues to age and get better. Just an example of what age can do to cigars...they don't always get better, not even the good ones.

All of the original production cigars in these series are hard to come by now, thus the demand for the Little Monsters, but with only 5,000 Little Boris cigars being produced and 20,000 of each of the various Little Monster cigars produced (totaling 100,000 Little Monster cigars)...I'd be hunting down the Little Boris boxes rather than the Little Monster boxes. The only retailer of the Little Boris is already sold out, so the only place to find them is in the secondary market now. That said...there is talk that Tatuaje would produce another 5,000 Little Boris cigars for Corona Cigar Co. because of the level of demand. It is believed these may be released as bundles (possibly w/o bands) rather than being boxed. But that's just rumor and conjecture at this point.

Hmmm...

Ive had a tatuaje havana vi before and it has been the only tatuaje ive ever smoked, and to be honest will probably be the last. It wasnt bad, but there was something about it just didnt make sense to me and it didnt really wow me with flavour.

Heres why:

I think as a brand it is very convoluted with with far too many vitolas and various releases every year that seem quite gimmicky. These monster releases and such i honestly dont really care for, plus you look at their website it seems very tacky in a sense...

Anyway just my opinion. I hope your cigars are worth it and they smoke well. A review would be interesting.

Thanks

Very well said. Tacky is the perfect word for Tatuaje - check out their new venture "L'atelier"
