Wow! Some in my area still do not have power..I can't believe it. DC Metro in pockets are still without. It's 100 today! Most of my patio furniture and umbrellas blew away..still looking for the seat cushions.

Ouch. Hope there were no injuries.

We took a lightening strike and were home at the time. It blew out any lightbulbs that were on, flipped most of our circuit breakers and took out our well. I took the well head off to investigate and found that all the fiberglass insulation in the concrete casing was melted and burned.

We got the well company out and they rigged up a short term solution until they can get back here. The pipes between the well and my barn were blown out and that was draining the water out of the house. They have to come back with a backhoe to find the break.

Nope, amazingly no injuries. The heat wave following on the storm took its toll, though with a few heat-related fatalities.

Wilkey... Where are you from? We were without power for 5 days. I don't need to tell you about the heat. 35 trees down in my development...4-6 roofs crashed. 1 car destroyed. I was very fortunate.

Hey Tim,

We're out here by Gainesville/Manassas. Although it blew through pretty hard here, it was nothing like what parts of Maryland and DC got. Some folks there still don't have power. Sorry to hear about the damage in your neck of the woods. Watching the front, all angry red on the radar, rip east was scary indeed. At least it was fast moving.
