PORN: Partagas 8-9-9

Recommended Posts

When did the bands change? Anyone have a picture of the old band? Interesting...

Around 2008... not very big changes yet it has lost some of its charms and heritage.

pic shows a 2007 (top) and 2008 (below) 8-9-8 band (slight variation in text alignment)

Awesome cigars.. Nice pick Mate.

Didn't know the came in an 899 packaging though ;)

On a serious note, why HSA insists on calling them 898s while the 10s are in reality 343s is beyond me.. :P

Oh lol, typo on the 899.

The difference seems very small, but noticeable. Thanks for sharing!

I might pick up a couple singles of these this week. It's been many years since I've had enough time and patience to enjoy this size cigar but with a few days left of holidays I think now it the perfect time to relax and enjoy a couple! Great pics Aizuddin

:perfect10: Great pix of an excellent cigar!

I don't, however, like the new band design. It's lost some of the heritage with the removal of Cifuentes.

Interesting. So in 2008, the text alignment changed? And when was the family name Cifuentes removed?

Great pictures.

Did I read something somewhere that Habanos are getting rid of all the old family names, such as Cifuentes, from the bands.

I'm torn between the 898's and the LGC MdO 2's...

Also, are you using the 100L or the regular 2.8 version? I was never into macro lenses but I could really use one to take detailed shots of my cigars.

Canon 100mm f2.8 macro. Can't afford the L!
