I've been losing interest in the past few years of the NBA, I'm sure many can assume why.

I don't mind a bit of baseball and want to start following it. The teams I was thinking of going for was either Cardinals, Indians, Orioles just because I like their emblem or the Rangers because I've always gone for a Texan team in NBA (spurs).

Suggestions welcome

Being a Seattle native I'd suggest watching the Mariners. But since they've been so terrible for so long now... well... Yankees? :D

NBA sucks. Haven't watched a game since 1996. Baseball is fun to play, but it's almost as boring as soccer to watch on TV. Almost - even golf is more exciting to watch than soccer.

You should get into NHL hockey next season. Lots of action, lots of hitting, plenty of scoring. Even a 1-0 games can be wildly entertaining. Something to think about anyhow.

Rangers all the way!

One of my fondest baseball memories involves the Rangers. It was A-Rod's first game back after he left the M's for that ridiculous contract with the Rangers - saying he wanted to "be remembered for being a Ranger" before he ever even played for that club. What a dik move that was, Mr. Rod. The Safeco Field crowd was merciless when he took to the field... I've never heard such booing in my life. Everyone near the field was throwing dollar bills out there - and I was one of them. That was awesome. Even my wife still talks about booing A-Rod that night - and she's not even from Seattle. The 9-7 Mariners' win was also a nice touch.

I'm a mad Blue Jays fan, but it's painful cheering for them with all the damn injuries.

All I can say is don't bother with the Red Sux or Yankmees. Cheer for a team that doesn't attempt to buy it's way to a championship.

My vote is for the Rangers. They've been very entertaining to watch for quite a few years now. I love how aggressive they play their base runners, it makes the games go by faster in my opinion. There's nothing worse for me than watching a 1-0 ball game and you just don't get many of those with the Rangers.

X2. But there was a day when the Jays were one of those teams that bought their way to a championship. Two in a row in fact. :ok: Those were the days.... :daydream:

Tampa Bay Rays for a lot of reasons. First, they are based in Tampa Bay, the Cigar Capital of the United States. The city of Tampa was founded based on the cigar industry. Second, the Rays are underdogs. They finished in last place in 9 of their first 10 seasons. With new ownership, they now compete successfully against teams with much higher budgets through a combination of young players, emphasis on fundamentals of defense and base running, and outstanding young starting pitching. The Rays never had a winning season until 2008, when they won the AL East pennant and lost to the Phillies in the World Series. Since then they have made the playoffs 2 out of 3 years, while high budget teams like the Red Sox have failed to do so.

So, if you like cigars, old school baseball, and underdogs, the Rays are the team to follow.

3.5 billion fans would agree to disagree... I mean I kinda agree with you if you're watching the American soccer league.

I like watching the Rangers, but I grew up an Astros fan. Now that they are behaving more like their name is the Lastros, I've started following the Rangers. Plus, I've always been a Nolan Ryan fan.

I grew up in a town that hosted the AAA team for the Dodgers, so I naturally have always followed them (ok, I'm a huge fan), even when we lost the AAA contract for a few years (we are again their AAA affiliate). They are a franchise of tradition, pride, class (well, except for the last few years, but I think Magic, et al will change that quickly) and winning. I do love my Dodgers and I think you would, too!

Whomever you do pick to follow, it is the best sport in the world, IMHO, so you can't go wrong with any team.

Cheers!

Any team can be fun if it's close to you and you learn the game. I vote you don't bandwagon on the Yankee or Red Sox train -- that would just be lame like all of their fans :nyah:

Amen to that brother! MLB needs to figure it out and adopt a freaking salary cap. Get some parity like a real sports league!

Meh. There are somewhere around 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, too... but that doesn't make me like Islam any more than I do. Soccer is simply boring. Just because 3.5 billion people enjoy watching a ridiculously boring game doesn't mean the other 3.5 billion of us are required to do the same. :D

Strange that you have lost interest in the NBA over the last few years. I've been a mad basketball fan since the early 80s and think the last few seasons have been some of the best for a long time.

...but if you want to follow the baseball at least follow Magic Johnson's team the LA Dodgers.

The Tribe ......havnt won a world series since 1948.....join our misery .....its great! !!

the team I follow in Australia hasn't had a grand final win since '66 so I don't want another losing team hahaha

I hate that it's turned into entertainment more than anything. I hate LeBron and I hate how 90% of the players are arrogant so and sos
