Sitting on the back porch doing some estimates for work when I saw El Pres's competition post so I figured I will start it off.

Cohiba Siglo IV

Wrapper is silky smooth and cap is well applied. Colorado in color. I clip the cap and get a perfect draw, the best one I have had out of my last 10 CC. Pre light odor is very distinctive of manure, more cow I'm thinking. Only with CC do I find this odor intoxicating and pleasant. Pre light draw not getting much in flavor other than vegetal/ hay notes

I Cut the cap with my xikar xi1. Just got it and it is phenomally sharp, perfect cut. I light it and it takes the flame instantly.

1st third opens as smooth as can be, extremely heavy with hay and grassiness, absolutely no bitterness to be found. I believe this stick has 2-3 years on it. I acquired a fiver through a trade, so I don't have a box code.

Into the second third not any evolution just smooth grassiness but it is so pleasant and the aroma off the foot is so intoxicating that I don't care if this is a one trick pony. Finish is long and light, not real heavy on my palate, haven't even needed a drink so far. Cigar has stayed at a light/medium into the last third. Burn has been razor sharp.

Final third

Body picks up a bit in the last third to medium, getting some darker notes of coffee bean with some herbal notes mixed in. Grass and hay still there. Burn is getting a bit wonky and have had to re light a few times from being distracted by work. Smoked this until it burnt my lips and fingers.

This is my second Sig 4 and it was just as good as the first. My only other experience with Cohiba is with the CORO which I don't like. I understand why Art is so in love with this Marca, I just wish it wasn't so damned expensive. I really want to get a box of these and the CCE but other boxes seem to jump these in my line of purchases.

Final smoke time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Score: 92

Nice review  I find the thing with COROs is that they do not smoke the greatest young and really do need a little age to bring them into, for lack of a better word, awesomeness. I smoked my first Siglo IV the other day and enjoyed it tremendously as well.

great review. This cigar is in my top 5 and is the best of the Corona Gordas in my opinion. "Intoxicating" is well said, and the coffee and herb in the final 1/3 is terrific. the aroma of the smoke is very distinctive. Can't wait to smoke another one.

I blew through a box of these in a few months between a couple of friends. I only have one left at this point, but its going to my friend when he gets out of physical rehab for a stroke he just had. He is truly a cohiba monster :)
