Freakin' redonkulus.

Licence to drive, licence to hunt, licence to get married, licence to fish, licence to do landscaping, licence to cut hair, licence to sell hotdogs, etc., etc., etc.....

...But, no licence to have kids or be an upstanding () parent.

Lovely. :forkyou:

Man this board really has an anti-US bias! whisper.gif

Same crap in all countries. We have some of the greatest drug morons in the world right here in Oz. Apparently if you take drugs into Indonesia and get caught....... you are a national celebrity.....for a decade

I'd check that presumption, at least in regards to this thread.

Only one that made that sort of anti- comment was from a fellow American botl.

Today, in the high school that I attended, they smuggle heroin and marijuana through the school. But most of that has to do with the fact that the Mexican Mafia is very prominent in my hometown.

It's insane how much drugs have changed the school and town. A crying shame.

I can assure everyone here, I'm about as pro-America as one can be. I am, however, anti-stupid, and this story certainly has a qualified candidate, regardless of his country of citizenship.

Cheers,

LOL. Agreed and understood - that's how I understood it anyways from your earlier post.

Either way, it's amazing how these sorts of people tend to always end up getting kids in horrible situations. Unfortunately, stupidity sometimes negatively affects innocent bystanders.

Thanks, I was worried I had unintentionally opened a can of worms. :covermouth:

You hit the nail on the head with your comment regarding a license. How on earth could anyone bring this crap into their home when they have a child. I just don't get it and I'm sure I never will.

Drugs are a problem all over the world, and people all over the world have kids. Licensing isn't going to change that. Im curious how a 'license to breed' is going to stop someone from doing drugs around their kids. At least here they will remove kids from the home (if drugs are found) and charge the parents with felonies. If 'that' doesn't stop people some arbitrary permission slip to have sex in the first place isn't, either. I can't really think of a more intrusive act by a government than regulating who can have kids PRIOR to actually conceiving (assuming two consenting adults of legal age). I can think of someone who tried to start a "master race" but he also killed over 12 million people in gas chambers and ovens.

seriously? that is what you got from this?

an anti-stupidity bias might be closer. you might equate the two, i certainly don't. there are plenty of my posts on this forum that could not be more positive about the states (yes, the guns issue might be one aspect of which i am not so fond but that goes for wheresoever it might exist - and best not to discuss that further).

i've lived in the states, granted now a while ago, and absolutely loved it. at the time, i was the proverbial bee's appendage from staying there permanently.

rob's comment about our own drug morons is apt. and the national display of sympathy and support for them was/is/and always will be monumentally embarrassing.

but rob, given my understanding is that possibily one of your children is on a 6 month grounding - so any conclusions we can draw from that?

The guy is probably going to find a lawyer who will help him sue to get the drugs back! Illegal search of his jacket.

That is SO TRUE!:surprised:

Everyone gets involved in trying to release someone who is attempting to buy and or sell drugs in a country where they KNOW there is a death penalty so the Tax payer (Us) fork out money for dignitaries in an to attempt to ask for leniency and deport a drug user...:nosmilies:

Not just is the US mate, what I like about the US is that you guys place these clowns in the slammer whereas Australia give the majority a slap on the wrist, a fine and good behaviour bond.

Bridgeport is where most of the illicit materials for the north atlantic come in. I am not all surprised by this.

if you made that up, people would think you were crazy.

and doesn't he look like a prize specimen of humanity. the attire?

what i did like was the advert to the side wanting people to 'visit west virginia'! after that????

These kids are getting high on research chemicals, like mephedrone or "bath salts". These chemicals have never been tested on humans, and the users are the guinie pigs. Not good. We're seeing an explosion in their use stateside and an explosion in emergency room visits.
