El Presidente Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Firstly thank you for all the well wishes after the minor heart Op surgery Getting out of hospital Friday I came into work but didn't last long. I had all the right intensions of a month off the booze, cut back on the cigars and give myself some chance to recupperate. Yeah Right Rob (Freefallguy) was here Saturday so I cooked a great BBQ (Rob, Smithy, Di, Myself) in torrential rain at Czars and had just 2 glasses of wine and a couple of great cigars. Easy....don't push it. Great night with great friends. Feeling Good. Sunday was Bens 18th Birthday Party at home. Some Scotch and Soda's (a few too many), and a great Cohiba Robusto. Great day with family. Woke up Monday feeling good. Off to work. My great mate/mentor of 20 years Manu Bhojwani turned up from Singapore and we caught up on the deck at 3pm. We go back such a long way and together we are like petrol and a match. Great stories, reminiscing, laughter, a few drinks. he brought a magnificent 1.75 lt bottle of Chivas Regal as a gift. Great bloke. We were tucking into some JW Black label and soda's, red wine, I had 3 cigars. We cracked the Chivas at 6pm. the following morning I sensed I had "pushed it" a tad too hard. The heart wasn't palpitating but was certainly letting me know that I am an idiot. The remnants of the bottle gave me a hint as to why
Tan1801 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Nice work Rob . That certainly is a fair dint to a 1.75L bottle.
Dsc05eec Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 pushing it hard would have been to have the bottle empty, good thing you guys stopped short!!!
HydroRaven Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Glad to hear you're alright and the operation hasn't changed your lifestyle too much.
ohioldd Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Rob, take it easy....we do not want to see Smithy in charge?
NMJoe Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Live for today since you never know if you'll get another opportunity, I say.

partifan Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Think of the alcohol like wolves culling the weak cells from your system!

jedipastor Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Wow, Rob. I like Chivas 18, but THAT MUCH would give my body pause for sure, and I have never had heart surgery, lol. Take it easy, brother!
Phillycyclocross Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 You only get one chance at life. Take care of it.
CanuckSARTech Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 LOL. Cheers Rob! Way to take it easy! LOL. Happy 18th to Ben!
ramon_cojones Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Atta prez that's how you do it. Did smithy vote this 2 stars?
winelover Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 That is one large bottle, more than twice the size of our standard bottles in the UK. Hoping your mate had the lion's share but suspecting not! Good to see you back
