I can't believe I passed on the vitola for so long. I normally don't smoke directly on delivery but I waited a good 45 mins after looking at how oily they appear. The size feels great and I've really been into the smaller cigars lately. I'm not the best on reviews yet but the prelight and first inch of this has hints of nutmeg and vanilla which are two of my favorite tastes. I simply have it paired with a coffee as I'm a non drinker. These should be amazing after some time, already obsessed on ordering more.

I've got a soft spot for these too. Don't think I've had a bad one yet.

Is a strange one for me, I've had a few, one was excellent the other two a little to bitter Coffeeish for me, may needs a little bit of time, I really want to love them but not quite there yet, a great walking back t the office after a boozy lunch size (I'm a winemerchant it's all part of the job :wink2: )

I've gone through 3 or 4 10 count boxes of these since last summer. Have a few boxes still in the back of the humidor. Love the size and the flavors. Great go to cigar for about 45 minutes of smoke time. I've nubbed about everyone I've smoked.

yup chalk me up as one of the people who enjoy these short stubby cigars. i enjoy them more than the regular edmundo.

A cigar made for modern ways of consumption (short size = short time to smoke them; no aging necessary as they have already plenty of tastes even extremely young). I like them.

That said, since this vitola is quite recent (production started in 2006 if I am not mistaken), does anyone have a recent experience to report with a five-four year-old PE? How do they age?

Best,

Michel

PE's were the first Cuban cigar I ever bought and I love them still. They are a little short if you are looking for a cigar to relax with, but if you know you only have a maximum of an hour it's perfect. With a cigar this short and fat you shouldn't expect a whole lot of flavor changes, complexity etc. The PE is perfect for someone that just wants a 45 minute medium bodied smoke to enjoy with a coffee or tea, otherwise look the the Edmundo for the extra length.

Gotta agree with these two, not much complexity or evo but good flavor, great size and preferred to edmundo. About the only monte I've enjoyed, went through a box of these a couple years ago and have been tempted to pick up another good toasty tobacco.

Your right, not very complex but it doesnt have much room to be. Stayed sorta vanilla and nutmegish throughout. Nubbed the heck outta it!!
