kcheek Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 These banks really tick me off with this idea!
rfenst Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 First, the banks embraced the electronic/digital age and migrated us from cash and checks to cards; and tellers to machines. Now, they want to charge us for these same things...
adic88 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 In Malaysia, we've had to pay for ATM usage for years. RM8 per year for unlimited withdrawals. And if we withdraw from an ATM not of our own bank's network, we have to pay extra.

NSXCIGAR Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 This thread is so old that $5 fee is more like $4 with inflation.
SoniaFraser Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Well that is one way to look at ATMs, next time I use one I will remember this comic and it is going to be awkward lol. ATMs have really evolved a lot actually and now there are even some bitcoin ATMs. I am not sure how those work an what is the catch with them. I use only the ATM that I am sure of because there have been a lot of scams recently with some fake ATMs where they just take your info and all of your money. You can recognize good ATMs by how it looks, what sign it has and even the paper quality they use. You can visit this website to se how real ATM paper should look like.
sw15825 Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Damn this is an old thread. Lol. Per Wikipedia 2017. In September 2017, the "Big Four" banks in Australia announced they would be abolishing non-customer ATM usage fees. The Commonwealth Bank was the first to make the announcement, shortly followed by the three other major banks; ANZ, NAB and Westpac. The rediATM network charges up to A$2.50 for domestic cards and A$5.00 for international cards.[4]
