adic88 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Had a fantastic evening with friends and the H Upmann Half Corona (SUB ABR 11) last night! A really good cigar and deserving of some of the early plaudits. Check out the full review of the cigar here http://mycigarblog.org/blog/?p=2459
nonameno Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Hi Aizuddin, Another great review! I guess you are right about the rather mild flavor profile for most Upmann's, but they also have been of such high quality tabacco, that they have been enjoyable smokes nonetheless. I have really been enjoying your cigar blog and your reviews there. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing and best wishes, Curtiss
mbrody Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Thanks for the review! My first HuP 1/2 Corona was mostly youthfull, so I hope to wait a couple of months and try another...I love small smokes, so if this box opens up, the flood gates will open. Funny thing to me about Upmann, I do not consider them mild, nor mildly flavored. I think it is because I tend to like the Mag 46 which is on my medium scale, with a little edge to them. I have had some medium plus flavor BOMBS this past year for recent upmann production (2010 #2,08 Sir Winston, 08 Connie1), and also note that the aged stuff continues to get stronger with more flavor as time goes by. Upmann has become one of my tops
Habanakane21 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Good one! I love these little guys. Keep it up!
riazp Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 great review. I too am really loving this cigar, i see it becoming a regular in my rotation.
aavkk Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 thanks for the review Aizuddin and I agree with you on most young Upmanns. I havent had any of the 10' production but other than the 08' Connie 1's which were amazing fresh my experience with young Upmann's is very similar to yours. However, when you give them some age they blossom unlike many other marcas.
