Well I had posted a list of all the cigars I planned to smoke while getting married in Mexico and was really looking forward to them all. Unfortunately I was misinformed as to how much time getting married actually takes! Landed in Cancun on a wet Tuesday and promptly got on the road to drive the 1.5 hours south to Tulum. As planned we stopped in Playa Del Carmen for lunch. The girls (wife and her maid of honor) gave me the afternoon off while they went to the local Sam's club for supplies and I was able to meet up with Rush (Rushman) at his cigar shop on 5th Ave. Nice little kiosk type store right in the middle of PDC and we cracked a few beers, sat on the porch and just talked cigars for 90 minutes. We smoked some 2003 Partagas Lonsdales. Mine had a perfect draw and was lighter then I remembered. Tasty, but not full of that Partagas spice I look for. Overall, a pleasant smoke and what would turn out to be the most relaxing cigar I had all trip!

We stayed at Playa Azul hotel in Tulum and it was amazing! White sand beaches, turquoise water, and barely crowded. Additionally, our wedding party had all of the cabanas rented out for three days so it was literally like we had our own private beach. So nice. However, with all the family that came in and wedding prep I really did not have time for cigars like I had hoped. I was able to sneak in a 2002 Diplomaticos #4 on Thursday morning that was fantastic. Light flavors of sweetbread and creme cafe. Such a shame these are discontinued!

The wedding itself was a huge success and there were a few boxes of Romeo y Julieta AT #2 circulating around. The cigars were a big hit with the guests as they are a good size for the non regular smoker and with a nice presentation in the tube.I had planned on a cigar picture with all of my smoking guests, but ended up forgetting. I enjoyed two of them that night and they both were fantastic. Medium to med full and had that nice cherrywood type flavor to the smoke.

Lastly, I did smoke the Behike 52 in Cancun on Monday (after watching the Bears beat the Eagles on MNF). This was somewhat of a wasted smoke as I was so tired from the prior few days and a bit more intoxicated then I would have liked. Also the wind was really blowing which made the enjoyment level diminish. From what I recall the cigar was lighter then I expected, but very creamy and smooth with notes of vanilla. This is a cigar I would have liked to have saved for another time.

So that was it cigar wise. The trip itself was fantastic, we were lucky to have amazing weather and a great showing of guests (73). A lot of my friends came and everyone was just chilling on the beach, drinking beer, playing frisbee, swimming etc . . . Great times and memories with family and friendsand I can't wait to go back for vacation.

Congratulations! :ok: Great photos. I love going to Mexico. I've been there at least 12 times in the last 10 years. Going again once the weather here gets nasty. :)

Ha funny story about that. Night ended around 2 am when we lost one of the groomsmen. After a 90 min search of all cabana porches and along the beach with flashlights he was found 3/4 mile away passed out on the sand. My wife was the first one to see him and rushed ahead to discover that he was not moving and his eyes were open. After being prodded a few times he woke up and immediately raised his right hand to his face where he attempted to smoke the cigar he was holding! All ended well, but it was a bit tense for a few minutes and needless to say the party never recovered.

Congrats on your Wedding. I got married in Playa Del Carmen last year. It'such a great place. Spent some time in Tulum as well. Thanks for sharing.
