Rushman Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Yesterday, someone brought me several singles of an unbanded cigar. The cigar is a 52 x 170, maduro-ish, had an unfinished foot and has a dark oily wrapper. The person who brought it to me is known to dabble in grey and black market cigars out of cuba. My guess is that these sticks are (1) custom rolls, (2) black market cigars that were destined to wear a Habanos band or (3) well made (extremely well made) fakes destined to wear a fake Habanos band. You be the judge. Cigar was bursting with rich tobacco, coffee and chocolate favors. Was very well constructed and burned well. Thoughts? I have my mind made up as to what these are but want your thoughts before I reveal mine. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631777,-87.070766
Kapsimalis Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 The dimensions and flavones are similar to the genios.
riazp Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Depending on where the tobacco is from, these look very similar to some Jorge Lopez customs I have. Only real difference is the fact that it is 52 RG and mine are more like 44-46. Either way, completely impossible to know without asking the person who gave it to you! I was thinking the same thing, the Lopez customs have foots like that...but not a 52 RG..but its not impossible that he rolls larger cigars though...i know in montreal he was doing monsdales, coronas and pyramides..
Smallclub Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Think it could be a Hoyo du series? A Hoyo du series with a 52 ring gauge? This cigar is obviously a custom demi tasse blended by señor Porfirio Bolero Y Calamares and rolled by señora Serafina Latón de la Cruz…

sje Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I recognize these stunners a mile away, myself and 9 other Melbournians were in Cuba last month. Organized by Toby brokelhurst. Had lunch with punch Joe in Havana. Jose then walked us to a LCDH nearby into a back room (Private area) where we could purchase these custom Rolls using 7 Or 8 year tobacco, these are Devine with a number of different sizes and shapes on offer, I bought 25 sticks that sit proudly sitting in a signed humidore by Alejandro Robaina. Done before his death , Is the giftee from Melbourne ? If not were they in Cuba recently ???
