CaptainQuintero Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I've come across a B&M which is selling off bundles of ten aged cigars, and at half the price of the usual RRP. Of the sale line there is the 1999 Siglo V. So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Siglo V from 1999? The first thing which springs to mind is the dark ages for the Cuban cigar around those years. Also how are they lol? I have only had experience with the Siglo 2 and 4, loved the sweet creamy flavours of the first halves but didn't expecially enjoy the dark and bitter herby second halves. So just looking for some advice really, was the 1999 production bad/good?
CaptainQuintero Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 what's B&M (I'm probably being thick) Brick and mortar- a local physical tobacco store
Lotusguy Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 what's B&M (I'm probably being thick) B&M = Brick and Mortar store (i.e. the old-school physical stores pre-Amazon.com )
maverickdrinker Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 more importantly, where is the B&M and what is the name? 1999 was the last year of great sticks before cuba when into overdrive making cigars and quality went down. They should be ok, especially since it has been aged for 11 years. Good find.
Smallclub Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 1999 was the last year of great sticks before cuba when into overdrive making cigars and quality went down. You must be confusing; 1999 is one of the worst year, specially for lonsdales and dalias… I wouldn't take the risk, unless you have a solid experience in checking the weight, touch, appearance of the feet, etc, of potentially problematic cigars…
