investandprosper Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 So, I thought CaptainQuintero was a bit odd when he said he tasted Old Lady's Perfume in one of his cigar reviews. Count me as one of the odd ones! Yesterday, I pulled out a Cohiba Siglo I from mid-2010, and I kept getting old lady perfume throughout the entire short-lived experience. It would come and go through all three segments of the cigar. Thoroughly disgusting. Anyone else experience this? We can start a club.
Warren Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I can't say I've ever had the experience of sucking on an old lady.
gigabyte056 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 If by old lady perfume you mean something like rose petals, I have had that in the odd cigar , never liked it. If you are talking about slowly decaying flesh, then no

headstand Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Would that be similar to a soapy taste? Did not like it. I got that last month from three different Vegas Robeinas. A post here (can't remember the poster) made a passing reference to soapiness being a sign of poor fermentation.
CaptainQuintero Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Maybe could be tasted as soapy if you have that very heavily scented soap. It's like very, very strong, cheap, floral (lavender-ish) old lady's perfume. The type that makes your eyes water and leaves you with a film in the back of your throat/tongue (The perfume, not the cigar).

I'd get that soapy taste from a few of the VR famosos I had from my box a year ago too how bizarre.
Plato Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Actually, Old lady scent is something i look for in cigars
android Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I have some customs that are dripping with a sweet / perfume like flavor and I think it's amazing.
docbp87 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Never Old Lady perfume, however, "old Lady's Hand bag" that Ken describes... that I have gotten several times. In fact I have a pair of BHK 52s that have a bit of an Old Lady handbag smell to them.
