Every think of mirroring the site to the other side of the world? Wouldn't be difficult to do or cost much. Heck, I'd put up some cash to foot the hosting bill. Just copy the content over, setup mirroring on the slave host add one DNS entry and you're done. I can help if you like.

I have webhosting which you're welcome to use for free if you do this, u can put a domain there, or i use one of my existing ones which have nothing to do with cigars lol
