fbiguy
I am right there with you Prez. Weak enamel runs in the family and I have had 3 so far. The ones in the lower jawbone weren't fun, but the one in the upper jaw really really sucked! That it vibrates your entire skull is a bit unnerving as well, for those who have never had one. The smells and weird noises from the ultrasonic drill don't help either. And for what it's worth, I can vouch for those Sonicare toothbrushes, way less plaque buildup since I switched. Tickles a bit at first, but you get used to it. Good Luck Rob!
Maron76
I feel for ya! I had a few of them done. Whatever you do, don't let a dentist talk you into implants. I have had two failed back surgeries and permanent nerve damage and would take the back surgery over getting more implants again. There is something about tooth related pain that makes it the absolute worst most intolerable pain period. Hopefully they gave you some good meds to help you out with that Pres. Fuzz
This reminds me of Bill Cosby's routine about Dentists.

cigcars
I've spoken about (or rather- lamented about ) the dentist on this thread before. I had a great old fashioned dentist who didn't ride the "You need a root canal" wagon, as sooo many dentists do today. Not to knock the folks who really need it. I've had dentists recommend to me LOTS of times, "Get a root canal!" And my own old fashioned dentist would tell me, "You didn't need a root canal on that tooth..." Because it's $600 to $900 per tooth when they do it (at least in the years when I frequented the dentist when I strangely had more sense and less fear than I do now!) that they're so eager to perform it. They don't need ME in that chair for extended work anyway. I'm the kind of person who yells in terror, "YEAH!! YEAH!!! I feel it! I can feel it!!!" And my patient God-send angel of a dentist of mine will gently say, "I haven't even touched ya yet."
dB69
Totally agree! Have had the same treatment this and last week for one tooth. Luckily it doesn't hurt much because of the local anaesthesia. Btw, 99% of dentists in Finland are of very poor quality. Currently I'm trying to find a better doctor to finish the job next week.
fbiguy
Sonicare are awesome! Have you ever used a water pic? Yep, had one when I was in my pre-teens. I got to the point where I would crank it up to max. Which is apparently a bad thing since they made me stop using it. I was doing more damage to my gums than I was doing good for my teeth. Haven't seen a Water-Pik in years, but I suppose they still make them. Good memories.
