Any suggestion on what to try next

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions?

With the past two years, I have adventures over a number of cigars. Some have thrilled me; some have me wanted my hours back. Being optimistic, I see poor cigars as just a lesson learned. Among some of those cigars I had enjoy are listed below.

Behike 56

Cohiba Esplendidos

Cohiba Lanceros

Cohiba Siglo 6

Bolivar Corona Junior

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2

Montecristo Edmundos

Montecristo Petit Edmundos

Montecristo Petit Tubos

Montecristo No.2

Partagas Lusitanias

Partagas Serie D No.4

Partagas Short

Romeo Y Julieta Petit Coronas

Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills

Romeo Y Julieta Wide Churchills

Any recommendation on what I should try next or suggestions a drink I should pair up with my cigars?

Much appreciated,

Tyem

Just keep on trying them all. At least that's the approach that I've been taking. You can always return to a favourite when it suits you.

As for a recommendation, have you tried the Hoyo de Monterrey Des Dieux? I love that cigar.

Tyem, of interest to me is the cigars you haven't enjoyed...provide a list if you can

I try to run to the 3 cigar rule.

If I don't like a cigar once, I don't diss it. I try another (preferably from another box but often this is not possible). If it it still not to my taste, I try another further down the track (aged 3-5 years).

A constant in my experience is how often I change my mind on a cigar over time. I may have initially smoked a poor example or a cigar which needed more time. Before I give up on a cigar I like to give it every opportunity to impress. Some research here goes a long way. Some cigars need a little age (PLPC/Des Dieux etc).

However there will be cigars that have a profile your palate just isn't comfotable with.

From your list of what you have liked I would certainly look out for:

Bolivar Cornona Extra

Upmann 46 and 50

SLR Serie A, Regio, SLR DC

HDM Des Dieux

Holy Smoke! It's an honor to be communicating with you. You're doing a great job with the youtube video. After a long day at work, watching your video just so relaxing and entertaining.

I can not disagree with your three cigar rule. Makes perfect sense. You're right, I do feel like there's a cigar that I haven't try that's more suitable to my palate. But then, I love variety. Haha :dollarsign: .

Here's a list of cigar that I haven't try, but would like to;

Bolivar

Diplomaticos

H. Upmann

Juan Lopez

La Gloria Cubana

Punch

Vegas Robaina

I will keep an eye on the cigars you mention. Also not to diss the old.

Thank you,

Tyem

You should try a Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona. I always look forward to smoke this cigar, and it has never disappointed me yet. They have a great construction, perfect draw and great burn. I think Monterrey's cigars makers know pretty well what they are doing... :dollarsign:

Hi Tyemv, I wish I could have started out with a list like yours!

You have definitely come to the right place. The true personal service that Rob, Lisa, and the rest of the Czar crew provide is remarkable. Your reaction to his reply shows how hard it is to find a place like this nowadays.

Everyone has given you some great recommendations and I would just like to second the bolivar corona extra. One of my favorites right now.

I am sure You have been reading a lot of info on FOH and have seen El Pres talk about buying what is "in season". Check out the post titled Warehouse Review and see what recommendations you have received are in El Pres's top ten right now.

Thank you for the kind words and suggestion. I might have but don't recall watching the video. I'll check it out right now. Thanks again.
