This weekend and until Monday, my small town village of Calvisson in the south of France, will be filled with old time music coming from some very old Street Organs or Barrel Organs.

These organs function with perforated cardboard books with some dating from the late 19th & early 20th century but also some great reproductions all in fine working condition except for maybe some organ grinders who have been experimenting some of the wines here in Calvisson. LOL LOL (HIC !!!!) Well, they seem to be enjoying.

This is the first year that the event is being held and it looks like a fine success.

Street Organs & Organ Grinders from all over France have come to Calvisson this weekend to present their prized Organs and to enjoy the opportunity to discover our region and our small town village of Calvisson.

As on most events held in our town, lunch and dinners will be served on the town square with lots of food , wines & deserts.

Since the theme this weekend is on old time organs and music, I brought out some old time Habanos that date from the early 90's to take out with me. A 5 pack of HdM EXQUISITOS that came from a 100 count cigar box containing 20X5 Packs from 1991.

You folks there in Calvisson sure know how to have a good time. Seems like the community hosts a lot of very interesting events.

There was a push-cart street organ in my neighborhood earlier this week. I saw people throw money out of upper floor windows to the couple as they played and worked their way down the street.

Please post some notes on those cigars and enjoy the dinner, dancing and singing.

Thanks for sharing such wonderful pictures. Living in the city, I do miss the small-town friendliness and atmosphere at times.

By the way, how were the cigars?
