Environment - roof top, not too hot, 30 degrees in the evening with some cool breeze

Pairing: none

Construction: rough and vein-ny; Spots, nicely packed, nicely wrapped

dry to the look; Powdery to the touch

probably a bit dry as the band slides easily up and down the stick

just couldn't wait to try so I smoke the within days of arrival and still very young as per box code

Hmmm.....Do these really need more sleep? The binder & filler is aged for three years and the wrapper for five. I've had about 6 in the past year from a 2009 box and they were solid performers. I'd take a box of these over a box of BHK52's anyday.

Seems to me Rob said in one of the video reviews that burn issues in young cigars tend to sort themselves out with time...I had a young Siglo 3 go crazy on me.

Nice review, I need to try some more. While I'm not crazy for maduro 5s like some I do enjoy them once in awhile. Had an 03 dc el on sunday that was pleasant.

I would have to agree with you on that because of the price point. I have to say, I felt that there as substantially more cream in the bhk 56 that I had about a month ago, which i thought was quite nice.

Great level of enjoyment. I think that I didn't give a higher rating because I was expecting something more pleasant to the eye. Nonetheless, a great smoke. I think that given I am finding less time to smoke these days, I would probably really enjoy the magicos or secretos...

Thanks for the review. Based on your notes and the way that it burned, some time will do this some good.

I had an OR Genios a few weeks ago and time does bring everything together. No burn issues. Plenty of cocoa, chocolate notes with a hint of spice. A little sweetness on the lips and the after taste.

Thanks for the review. Can't see the pics for some reason. While a Cohiba fan, I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the Maduro 5 line, cut of the three cigars, the Secretos is the best IMHO.

I'd happily trade 10 Genios for 10 BHK 52s. Love those things

I have 10 2009 Genios. send over the BHK's Mav
