The Partagas Party Pack arrived a few days ago. Thanks Czars - they look great. All I can say is that I want to smoke them all ASAP. That is, with the exception of the two Lusitanias.

;) Up periscope:

"Captain Rob it's a ship sir. It's the Lusitania."

"Aye lad, the Lusitania it is. But that be no ship young Deeps, that be one mighty impressive cigar".

"Captain Rob sir, it's, it's enormous. I'm afraid sir".

"Aye, I know lad. Easy now..." :D

So I levered one down on the table: it sagged a bit - there was creaking. I slowly walked around the cigar, inspecting the wrapper - dark, oily sheen, and beautiful. Took a step closer for a sniff and got rich gentle barnyard with cocoa and some delicious sweetness. Man oh man this is going to be good, but how do you smoke one of these? Standing up? Sitting down? Will I need an arm rest? What do I do for two hours while smoking it? What do I drink? How much should I drink?

Friends, I will gladly receive what advice you can give...

Thats cute!

Anyway don't worry about it too much, it's an impressive cigar but it's not as intimidating to smoke as it is to look at ;) I smoked my last one while at a club, sitting for the first half, dancing for the last with a couple of drinks accompanying me the whole time.

If you're worried about getting tired while holding it, just sit down :D But no need for a rest because of it's strength or kick!

Enjoy!

I still haven't tried one yet, and have had ten of them resting in one of my humidors for several months now. >_> At this point I'm just waiting for a special enough occasion, probably when a couple of my cigar-smoking friends come to my house at the same time. Which would most likely never happen since they live hours away in opposite directions and can rarely tear themselves away from Work-Work-Work or Leashed-Leashed-Leashed. ;) Could have one by myself but I'd rather share the experience; except I'm mostly dealing with greenhorns that probably can't handle a 2-hour smoke. Tough times.

The best is while you're sitting at a table, so you can lean your elbows down on the table and give your lower back a rest from the strain of holding the thing ;)

The last time I smoked one was in a restaurant (one thing I love about Russians - no one even complained... a few other people even lit up their own sticks!). I downed about 250 mL of scotch with it. But I think it would probably pair very well with some tea or coffee.

"Captain Rob sir, it's, it's enormous. I'm afraid sir". <Thats what she said! haha

Smoke this cigar when hanging around with the mates while sitting back having drinks. I did not find it to be that strong at all. Personally it did not do it for me :/

Purchased that same party pack. Enjoyed mine at a cigar bar drinking rum and coke and playing some dominoes with friends. Even though I enjoyed it the shorts were my favorites with the 898 and P2 coming in a close second out of the sampler. I will pick up a cab of shorts on next purchase for sure.

You are in for a true cigar smoking experience. It is true that you should not fear the Lusi. The size is deceptive. Cuban DCs in my experience while flavorful, are far from being nicotine bombs. Also the larger ring guage will keep them from burning hot if you overpuff, as some are apt to do when inebriated. I prefer enjoying my cigars sitting down rather than standing or dancing, it is more relaxing, less distracting and allows me to better focus on the experience. In terms of drink, hell that is really personal preference...but for a cigar that will burn for 2 hours you could drink a whole hell of a lot of whatever you choose, or mix it up a bit to see what you may really enjoy pairing the cigar with next time. Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice gents. This is what I'm hearing so far: sitting is advisable but not necessary, drink alot and feel free to mix drinks. I hope I got that right
