The phone assumes what you are trying to type as you type it and sometimes if what you type is not what it assumes, it will automatically change what you type to what it assumed you were trying to type. I just got swift keyboard off of Amazon.com because they were giving it away for free. I swear its assumptions are worst than the stock keyboard! I typed "a" and it inserted "and". It put "witty" when i typed "with" (that blew my mind). "Item" when i typed "it". I have the aging original Droid (Rooted and overclocked). I notice the auto-correct isn't so bad when you use the physical keyboard instead of the touchscreen.
