michael69 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Hello there, Well... I've been a member for just over two years, but have only ever posted twice (shame on me I know...) Thought it about time I introduce myself! My name is Paul, I live in London, I'm a musician by trade. Other than music, my overwhelming passions are cuban cigars, fine malts (particularly Islay scotch), premium bourbons and rums and also cognacs/armagnacs. I am a member of the UkCigarForum where I usually post (I'm sure there are others here that are also active on UKCF?) I am well acquainted with the fine cigar shops here in London, where I have made the vast majority of my purchases, until fairly recently mostly as singles rather than boxes. I am also familiar with all the cigar shops in Geneva (where my brother lives and works), so most of my cabinet and box buys have been there given the much lower cost in Switzerland. As my passion and taste have developed I have become more and more interested in buy and ageing full boxes; I focus quite a bit on the more limited end of things (LE's and RE's), and am lucky enough to have access (through the LCDH here) to most of the best ones. As I said, I have generally bought them in smaller quantities, although I have got a pretty decent stock of some (now) rare and good stuff. I keep a rolling stock of about 500 or so cigars divided between singles and boxes/cabs (18 or so of these at the moment). Aside from boxes of my regular production favorites (siglo VI/IV, Lanceros, Robustos, each of the Trinidad regular line and various Partagas, Montecristo and Bolivar), my boxes are RE and LE editions. I am beginning the process of getting hold of boxes specifically for ageing with an emphasis, as I say, on relatively limited releases. When I get some time, I'll post some picture of my humidors. Which brings me to Friends of Habanos and Cigar Czar. I absolutely love the ethos you have here; a fantastic and large forum attached to an amazing cigar shop run by genuinely passionate and likeable aficianados (stop me if I'm embarrassing you guys!) I'm hooked on the videos from the deck and am insanely jealous of the lifestyle you convey as well as fully appreciative of the fantastic reviews and information you provide. I hope you will allow me to become a fully-participating member here and a customer; I intend to actually post more than twice every two years believe me! Hope that provides suitable introduction, and all the best from London, Paul
