Hoyo de Monterrey - Le Hoyo des Dieux

LAG MAY '10 Cab

Dry boxed for two days

First third: as expected from Les Dieux

Beginning of the second third: for about 2 cm extremely hard to keep going, very little smoke, taste that can best be described as the vilest of dog ****.

Last third: back to Les Dieux

????

Have you ever experienced anything similar?

I hate to think what the heck was in the middle of the stick! ;)

 Sorry to hear that Dan, maybe a tobacco knot or whatever.

Happened to me a few times, when it does, in the bin it goes!!!!!!

I can't bother with things like that anymore. ;) I want to enjoy the cigar, not pass my time fighting with it.

Guy you are wise beyond your years! :jester:

It's a good thing the same phenomenon doesn't happen with bottles of wine!

Not completely. I just had my first experience with a "corked" wine. Such a vile odor :flower: At least with wine you know right off the bat.

And it it's good on the first pour you won't get a "surprise" on your journey down to the bottom like I had with Les Dieux!!

At least it finished on a positive note. I can't say I've had the same experience though, especially on such an HQ cigar. Although we've all learned, Habanos are filled with surprises.... good and occasionally the bad. I hope you don't see another one of those from that box!!
