LowKey Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 The bricks are both customs from well known rollers in Havana. The two up front are also customs. The rest: 3 Cohiba Sig II Fan frign tastic. took me by surprise. I could not put the bloody thing down. Rated 93 all the way 12 Trinidad Reyes A vary nice cigar but needs to be put down. Rated 88 10 Partagas Solamons Didnt try 10 RyJ shorts WOW finaly an RyJ that kept me interested! Rated 90 10 Hoyo Epicure Especial Another smoke to lay down. Rated 88 10 Partagas P2's Didnt try All the brand name stuff was procured at the LCDH on 63rd (Varadero). Thus far, the name brands can't hold a candle to the customs. NOT EVEN CLOSE. The blend quality and craftsmanship are on another level. Best of all, the customs have some aging strengths to them. I put them in a humidor within my humidor so the visual temptation wont get the best of me. They are the brass in my collection. I went to the Bodega with a Cuban friend and landed myself some peso cigars (just to try). 1 out of 3 arnt bad at all! No blend mind you. But the tobacco quality was nothing to turn a nose at. I was gifted some fake MC no2's. Tasted like re rolled peso cigars to me. Kick in the bottles of rum and Im a touch over my declaration ;-). What a fantastic trip!

maverickdrinker Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 great haul. Were the customs from Havana or Varadero? I bought some robustos from Alfonso at the 63rd LCDH and they were fantastic.

Maverick, the customs are from Havana. I ordered them well in advance of the trip. I had a coffee and a smoke Alfonso back in 2K9. He's A1 in my books. Getting a mix of customs and market brands is the way to go! Cheers
