cloganplatt Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 The beautiful boxes of CC's I have recieved have big nasty warning lables stuck on. I assume some of you have seen these also??? lol. Wow, some of the pics are downright disgusting, and its hard as hell to get the stickers off. I have a nice glass door humidor, and these stickers are ruining the damn view! Thoughts on getting these stickers off? Covering them up? OR - Just smoke the damn CC's and forget about it already. Cheers!
cookie_1978 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Try a hairdryer. Should loosen the glue enough to remove. I agree, some of those pics are really disgusting.
Nedule Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 hairdryer worked for me, I've also used Goo Gone on the lacquered boxes, made with citrus so verry little chemical smell http://www.magicamerican.com/googone.aspx
BradNC Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I will have to try the hairdryer too. I've been slapping a layer of black gorilla tape over the top of my warning labels for a while. I've also heard of people using large white stickers like are used to protect textbooks to cover them.
bob25 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I tried to get tid of them when I stated getting the boxes from CZAR,eventually I realized it was too much work so they don't bother me anymore.
BlueClaw Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I tried to get tid of them when I stated getting the boxes from CZAR,eventually I realized it was too much work so they don't bother me anymore. a little patiece but the hairdryer works perfectly
First Lady Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Hairdryer and orange oil takes off the sticky glue... don't blame us they are put on before being sent to us... we hate them as well
cloganplatt Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 collect the set Trust me y'all - I'm working on it!!!! I certainly don't blame you - I know how government warnings are!
android Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I enjoy them...use as educational tool for your kids as to what cigarettes can do!
cloganplatt Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I enjoy them...use as educational tool for your kids as to what cigarettes can do! That's no lie. nasty things. Sad that cigars get lumped in to that group. Honestly though, I just somked an amazing Ramon Allondes. Tasted so good - bold and rich - I don't care what they put on the stinkin' box lid.
cigcars Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 *That's MY biggest complaint too about their lumping us cigar smokers in there with cigarette smokers. Cigarettes will kill you, sure, but our Seegars? Not hardly. If only there was a way our ATF officials could be made to acknowledge that a hell of a lot of cigar smokers live to very old ages and when they do croak, it's usually due to non-nicotine related causes. My humble 2 cents
#2 man Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Didn't your mom tell you "It's what's inside that counts" ? F###the dumb S###!!!
bassman Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 As long as the sticker doesn't cover the box code, I don't care.
thechenman Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 The stickers don't bother me at all...I just leave them as is...
CUBANO Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I leave the stickers on the box to discourage sticky fingers from getting to my smokes.
mm12 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Habanos should just send each box out of the factory shrink wrapped in plastic for the sole purpose of thwarting these stupid stickers. Or just have everything come with a cardboard outer box like they do with some of the varnished boxes.
drake2k Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I put a hot wet rag over the sticker for 30 minutes or so to loosen the glue. Then, peel off as much as I can. The glue left will come off easily with Goo Gone. Pain in the butt, but no big deal really.
Fuzz AI Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Habanos should just send each box out of the factory shrink wrapped in plastic for the sole purpose of thwarting these stupid stickers. Or just have everything come with a cardboard outer box like they do with some of the varnished boxes. Knowing our Govt, they would cut off the shrink wrap and put the stickers on anyway. If you've seen ciggie packs here, the Govt makes the manufacturers put the stickers on before they are wrapped in cello.
drake2k Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I just used it today on a box of Genios. Didn't even dull the finish on the lacquer.
