I get up at 4:30am every day.

Tom (aka 10 today) got up at 5am.

RA "Your up early mate?"

T " Yeah..I couldn't really sleep"

RA " Hang out watch the the Packers Minnesota Game as I catch up on e-mails"

T "No problems dad"

T "Favre really is looking old:

RA "last two minutes will show if he still has it"

T " he doesn't"

RA "You're right"

General commotion at 6am as other members of the house rise and give Tom a hug while bearing gifts.

RA "Happy Birthday Son"

T "You Had no idea did you?"

RA " Lisa has it on the white board as being the 6th"

T " That confused me when you came in and said happy birthday and gave me the bike"

RA " I like getting in early"

T " Should I call lisa?"

RA "she is a woman Tom...she will blame me"

T " Is she is right?"

RA " yes"

T" Love you Dad"

RA " Love you to mate. I will talk to Lise"

Hello Prez,

That was a WONDERFUL little exchange with your son! I am sure he understands just how busy his father is and how many critical issues concerning the survival of Western Civilization you have on your mind. (good think it is a son and not a daughter). I especially like how you have Lisa and the white board to fall upon.:liar:

I was up watching the Vikings game as well. My wife is from Wisconsin, so we are a mixed marriage and things become very difficult when the Vikings play the Packers.

I hope your son had a super 10th birthday! :hole:

Thank you for sharing,

Curtiss

What's wrong with annual repeating reminders on your phone/PC calendar? Thanks to this I not only remember birthdays but also wedding anniversary, engagement date etc. My wife often forgets, so having the reminders to act on gives me lots of plusses... :hungry:

Exactly. I use Microsoft Outlook for everything - e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc. A perfect program to organize all this under, and a great organizational tool (I can set a pop-up reminder for important dates or appointments from X number of days, out to 4 weeks or so, which give me lots of advance notice for anything).

Definitely beats post-it notes.
