skindiver Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I really don't think so, in regular production these days. I can remember being at the Festival Habanos with Rob and Ken in 2007, and Ken declaring these Mag 50's as a winner at the time. You need to question everything Ken is about, especially when in his proximity, but this time he was right. He ignited the crowd in Havana as I recall. Thanks, Ken for giving me the early call on this great cigar!
El Presidente Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Stan at their best they are the fruitiest of all Upmann's. ken speaks about "stonefruit" in a cigar but the Upmann 50 has it in spades
android Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Ken only speaks the truth... oh seeker of knowledge
El Presidente Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Ken only speaks the truth... oh seeker of knowledge Even a broken crock is right twice a day
Laxman Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 i Keep hearing such good things about this cigar and I am a huge fan of pretty much all Upmans but I have tried a handful of the 50's and never had any luck.
Ken Gargett Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 i'm just here to serve. and rob, i might only be right twice a day but that is twice more than your spelling.
Bunker1028 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Stan at their best they are the fruitiest of all Upmann's. ken speaks about "stonefruit" in a cigar but the Upmann 50 has it in spades Ken at his best is the fruitiest of all Aussies, and speak about manfruit. Sorry Ken, it was just a lay up.
SamuraiJack Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Just had another fantastic Mag46, AT. Tho I still think SLR Regios is the stonefruitiest of them all, at least when they are on. I heard that Kennedy picked up some boxes of Mag46 right before the embargo kicked in. Any know if thats true?

joeypots Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I think they were H Upman Petit Upmans. Pierre Salinger tells the story, (is he still with us?) that before Kennedy signed the Embargo into law he sent Salinger, his press secretary, out into the city to buy all of the available Petit Upmans. Salinger also tells stories about getting fantastic diplomatic gifts that he had to destroy once the embargo was law.
SamuraiJack Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Yup, Upmann "Petites" (wikipedia). Must be PCs?
joeypots Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 They are not PCs. They are smaller. Also, Petit Upmans are different from petit H Upmans. http://www.cigars-review.org/H-Upmann-Petit-Upmann.htm
