PigFish Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 2012... the end is near! Yes sir, what can I do for you? Well, I would like a cigar. It has been a long time for me I used to smoke a lot of them. Times have changed, Sir but we have some nice choices; Montecristo is a top seller. Anything else? Well we do have Cohiba but they are a bit more. Money is not a problem. I stopped smoking a long time ago and one of the reasons was that it started to become way too exclusive, a little pricey... you know? That was the plan sir, if you don't mind me saying. We don't like the riffraff in here. On the weekends there is a dress code! We only stock the top brands. It is not quantiy now is it...? It is the quality we always say!? What are the sizes? All we offer are 52 ring guage now. It makes things so much easier. And if you buy a box of 2 you get this beautiful lacquered box. The gold inlay is just for the Limited Edition models. The 2 box comes with a band cutter... you really need a band cutter because each cigar comes with numbered bands... eight of them! Some people collect them you know? No I did not know! How about the lengths? There are three lengths available now; big, really big.... and really ******* big! Wow that is a lot to choose from! I see you sell pipes too!!!! -Piggy

Would love to know what percentage of each are ultimately destined for USA Edited for a question: Are those region shares based on units or $$? If units, is one cigar one unit?

I am tired of going into B&Ms in Canada and before I reveal my decent cigar knowledge, I am sized up by the attendant and then introduced to the "excellent" Monte Open line. No Thanks!!!
bigfunkyg Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 This made me laugh! I am tired of going into B&Ms in Canada and before I reveal my decent cigar knowledge, I am sized up by the attendant and then introduced to the "excellent" Monte Open line. No Thanks!!! Why is this? I have the same experience. Are the margins on the Monte Opens higher for them or somthing. I was in the humidor at my local B&M and listened to one of the sales guys there sell a guy who had no idea what he was looking for on a Monte Open. I wanted to pull him aside and say "no, try this, this or this but don't waste your money on that". Two weeks back I smoked a 2008 EL Cuaba Pyrimide which was really a beautiful smoke and cost me $30. My smoking buddy brought two Monte Open Eagles later that weekend which cost the same. Mine suffered from some extreme construction and burn issues but otherwise it was non descript and lacking character. G
SethLG Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I don't know how many times when I have been in Canada or elsewhere that someone has said to me, have you had the Monte Open line. Maybe the rest of us are just clueless. ... ?
