tsolomon Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I have to thank Guy and apologize for not posting this sooner. A couple of months ago, Guy sent me this Rose to try. It’s a 2007 Domaine Saint Andrieu Rose - Cotes de Provence. This was after chatting online with him and Jim about never drinking a Rose that I liked. I have had this bottle for awhile and have yet to let Guy know what I thought of it. The drinking of this wine was further delayed by my wife who said we couldn’t drink until she had time to prepare a proper meal to go with it. So on a sunny Sunday afternoon with the temperatures around 90F (32C) we celebrated an afternoon in Provence. À votre santé The wine was very good and we really enjoyed it. It had a nice mix of flavors that made it interesting. The taste of berries, a little spice and a flower like aroma is how I would describe it, but very subtle. The wine was also on the dry side with a tangy slightly acid finish made it a perfect wine for our lunch. So to Guy I say thank you again my friend and it was very a good Rose. We did follow-up our meal with two RASCCs, the perfect finish to a great meal.
dicko Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Looks like a fantastic lunch combo! I need to find a woman who loves cigars also. I'm glad you enjoyed the wine. What is in the salad exactly? it looks delicious!

Tom, It was my pleasure, my friend I knew that you were not drinking Real Rosé or at least a decent one when you told me that you did not like Rosé, So, I HAD TO DO IT BRO. Plus you finished with a RASCC, PERFECT A big hug to both, from Monique & I.
mazolaman Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 certainly looks like a Nicoise, with soft boiled egg and black olives etc. A good rose is an excellent drink on a summers day,not too strong either. Looks a good lunch!
Guest rob Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Great spirit, all round. Well done gents on keeping alive the spirit of genorosity and humility!
