JasenWhare Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Hey all, Names jase from sydney, im on to age 19, & have finally reached the opportunity to enter the world of cigar smoking! Me being new to this, im looking for some advice. Which cigars i should start out on. what drinks should be accompanied with my cigar. ect! Thanks guys, Oh and ive actually smoked my first cigar which was a no. 2 romeo y julieta..couldnt really say i was impressed for a first cigar..couldnt really pick up any flavour, i suppose i got a earthy taste but that's all really, i suppose this was because the cigar was left in the humidor open on display, but it was sealed in the tube. cheers guys, Jase
Trevor2118 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Welcome to FOH Jase............you will get plenty of suggestions, but I suggest trying an assortment of brands and sizes to see what fits with you. Don't worry too much about drink pairing at this stage.....there are no set rules.
maalouly Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Definetly don't have the R&J # 2 or any of the R&J to start with. For your 2nd cuban try a PSD4 or a RASS they are consistent and will change your life . Don't worry too much about trying to pick up flavours, take your time and enjoy the journey.
thechenman Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Welcome to FOH...definitely try a variety. RyJs while good cigars just may not be your cup of tea, so to speak. Try different marcas and vitolas withing marcas and you will find your niche. It takes a bit of time and money, but it will be well worth it...I assure you.
