KB24 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 As we all know Chuck (Tampa) passed away the other day and although most of us never met him in person, he had an influence on us. Thought it would be nice to honor him and the information he provided to all of us by smoking something THIN in his honor this weekend. I've decided on a 2002 LGC Medaille D`or No.1. Thanks Chuck for leading my down the right path and steering me away from the wrong path in my cigar journey. -Patrick
purosdave Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Good call Patrick! I will grab the oldest thin ring gauge cigar in my humidor and light it up. I think that might be an 80s ERDM Elegante, but if those are gone I have a mid-90s Punch Ninfa that will work.
brutusthebuckeye Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Boli Gold Medal..LSM Feb 08....after work tommarow
Colt45 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Don't forget, if you're able, post a review here: Link
ucla695 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I've been saving my last '98 Fundadore for a special occasion and I can't of a better reason to smoke it this weekend.
gehrig24 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I've been saving my last '98 Fundadore for a special occasion and I can't of a better reason to smoke it this weekend. I could not agree more. I smoked my last one today in his honor.
FlyFishingDude Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Good call, I'm in! No skinnies though, but my last Regalos LE from 2007 should work along with Macallan 18 year. RIP Chuck.
Jimmy2 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 For me it will be a Rare La Corona Pre Castro one of my few gems it would be an honor to smoke this and review it for Chuck as many know here we more than anyone butted heads many times on our views with CC..
Professor Twain Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I had a Fundadore, an ERDM Demi Tasse, and a Serie du Con #3 in one glorious Thin Ring Gauge A-Thon today. And I got a bit drunk while doing it.
BigSlick Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I'm firing up an 01' Cohiba Lancero in Chucks honor tomorrow. Review to follow.
BlackFriar Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Smoked a Montecristo Especial yesterday, and I plan on burning a Cohiba Coronas Especiales with a friend today. Gonna be a skinny weekend.
reg Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I envy the vintage stuff you guys are smoking. Anyway, I'm going to try to smoke a monte especial before the rain starts
MontrealRon Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Friday night it was an LGC Md'O #1, reviewed in the regular review section. Tonight, perhaps one of the SDC.
hoyopr Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Fundadores and Dip #3 both 06's. Thin is In Chuck!
aavkk Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 This weekend was another ERDM GDE from 08 in Chuck's honor. These are pure gold, I only wish he was able to crack a box of these before he passed as he would have raved about the intensity of flavor.
perfectform Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Saturday night was my last 98 Fundadore as well. No better time to smoke it than in honor and memory of Chuck. I knew he was smiling.
