Loki Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Happy Saint Patricks Day! I always take off work on St. Pats. , not many Irish holidays. I am going to hop on my motorcycle and make my annual pilgrimage to Kerwins, a local pub that my dad started taking me to when I was 6. I'm now 41. The place has passed from father to son and has been open since 1954. Its nice enough today in the north east to sit outside and drop back a few pints and enjoy a cigar. Any other FOHers doing anything for the Holiday ?
thechenman Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Yeah...I'm sitting on the trading desk working...would rather head to Hoboken for the parade and a pub crawl, but it just ain't happening...
Rogers72 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I will have a few mates over tonight for some cigars and whisky. Nothing fancy but it's a good excuse to get together for a laugh.
samb Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Not a damn thing. Prolly wont get to even have a green beer.
audio1der Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I was up after midnight this morning still enjoying a beer and an SCDLH La Punta from 06. there will be more tonight, albeit not green. Happy St. Paddy's day from the token Irish guy here
Ryan Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Happy St. Patrick's Day. Went in to see the parade today with the kids but couldn't see anything because of the crowds so came home. No riots in Dublin as far as I've heard yet anyway, so that's good. Peterson Gran Reserva tonight I think. Not a huge fan, but at least it's a cigar with an Irish connection. There's a bottle of Redbreast I must get around to opening too.
jacksfull Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Not a damn thing. Prolly wont get to even have a green beer. So, how do you get Guinness to turn green?
anacostiakat Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Nothing today. After dinner I think I am gonna try to see what I have. I think I have some Clontarf or something to drink with a smoke and relax.
Azksig Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 My office is literally on top of an Irish pub so I'll stop by for 1 or 2 pints.
anacostiakat Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 My office is literally on top of an Irish pub so I'll stop by for 1 or 2 pints. Nice! Unless you get there early all the ones around here are jam packed all day long.
JasonInChiTown Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Just got back from a 3 hour lunch. Amazing corned beef lunch at an irish pub down the street - many pints of Guiness as well. Just closed my office door and going to count down the hours till I can join the party...
Azksig Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Nice! Unless you get there early all the ones around here are jam packed all day long. It's pretty cool, they're giving us VIP for working here so we get side entrance with no cover or wait. It was packed at 10:00 am.
