-Great construction, sort of dry wrapper, Maduro in color, hint of plume

-Pre draw is very easy, almost too easy

-Dried fruit and mild chocolate are initially what I taste

-Burn is sharp, no aftertaste and quick burn rate early on

-Not really a RyJ fan outside of the Duke EL

-Light Cocoa, light wood with a hint of Paprika in the 1/3 along with the dried fruit still

-I am able to find these everywhere on the web, can either be a good or bad thing

-Cigar right now is flavorful but they come across as a little watered down or muted

-Leather and sweet wood appear at end of 1/3, not bad so far

-Uneven burn unfortunately in the 2/3 but easily corrects itself after a scolding from me

-Nuts/dried fruit/bitter chocolate and spicy wood in 2/3, would say the cigar is a Medium right now but barely

-Right now I think some time can only help bring more of the flavors to the surface, make them stand out more

-Final 1/3 are more of the previous wood/leather and spice all rounded out by the cocoa

-Good smoke but not a barn burner IMHO, the muted flavors were disappointing, would like to revisit in 2 years

-8.6/10

Bart...was looking forward to smoking one of these tonight or Friday night...Suddenly I'm meh....

I just tried to smoke one and the thing was horrible, it got the point of being so bad that I thought I was smoking a fake one (which it wasn't as I bought it at LCDH and I also opened it to be extra safe and everything was ok).

After that failed attempt (I couldn't even finish the 1/3) I lit over another one from the same box, I bought the last 6 that they had, and it was better, but still very muted flavors... A little bit of cocoa and nothing else. The thing is that 6 months ago I lit the first one and it was blis.

I won't save the rest for much longer as they seem to be just dying.

Anyone else has had any new experiences with this?

The review started out well. Nuts, dried fruit, chocolate, wood, and leather!! WOW!! Sounds like a champ, but when muted as you described it's little more than a tease. I have no idea how these age, but best wishes they come to life for ya!!

Thanks for the review, Bart.

I've been slowly smoking through a box of these, and it's been a hugely variable cigar for me. Not so much in terms of quality (they've all fell in the 88-91 range for me) but in terms of actual flavor profile. Early on they were earthy and chocolaty and spicy with some cherry (I swear the final third tasted like a 50rg Partagas Connie 3), then they got sort of muddled for a while, then they were all wood and cream, and last I smoked the flavor profile was dried fruit with some leather and some wood.

I've smoked multiple cigars with each flavor profile, so I don't think it's really a fluke with there being different blends in my box. These have just been totally bizarre for me and I'm definitely curious to see where they go next.

Having smoked these myself, my guess as to their direction would be downhill...
