Bartolomeo Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 -Pre draw is herbal/vegetal -Construction is excellent, solid in hand with some nice, deep oil spots, wrapper is slick, slight box press -Not a Bolivar fan usually except for the Simones and Colosales, probably b/c they don’t have the typical Boli profile -Initial puffs are burnt wood like a BBQ smoky/wood taste, leather, and tannins -Noticed the cigar was burning fast so I needed to slow down in my efforts -Ash was neat colored light-Grey/Black striped log, very unique looking, almost like a Zebra -Light-Medium start but quickly transitions to a solid Medium in 1/3 -2/3 has notions of chocolate and vegetables like peppers or radishes, weird but very tasty combination -I am enjoying this cigar surprisingly and a big fan of the size as well, I do think I am a little spoiled with this cigar having some age on it -Medium-Full at mid point but very smooth, not overpowering in strength -Nice aftertaste, all of the flavors -Final 1/3 has nodes of tea, cream and herbal flavors -Honestly the best regular production Bolivar I have ever had -Have read that a cab is better than a dress box in these although the cabs are no longer made, I will definitely pick some of these up -87 mins smoke time -9.1/10 Bart
jdbrown Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 My Cab of SUA SEPT 02 are some of the best BCE Ive had! Amazing cigars and very consistent.
joeypots Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 One of my favorite cigars. With some age they can be as good as anything I've smoked.
thechenman Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I've often read the Bolis are some of the best aging cigars to come out of Cuba.
ksblazer Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 While I enjoy the Bolivar line. I must say that the Coronas Extras have be my favorite.
aavkk Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Bart, my source for this code also recently sold out and I should have purchased a second cab. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
