My favorite is probably an aged PLMC. Otherwise I'll just reach for anything light such as Fonseca or Vegueros.

Same boat... Typically I make it longer than 48 hours into the new month but the budget was gone before I could blink this month.

Haha whenever you're purging 7 times you know things aren't going well! But just to be clear, is the one you smoked yesterday from the exact same box? If so that's awesome. It makes me optimistic for a few duds in my own humidor.

Interesting, I didn't get any cream & honey which is more of what I was expecting from this marca. My can was from 2017 for reference. Who knows, it could always be up to interpretation and I certainly don't consider myself the source of truth. Organic products and opinions always vary. One thing I will say is that a lot of the cigars I got in my can were UGLY lol. There was one stick with so many water spots it looks like a leopard! Not sure how common this is and I don't really care at this price point. But in case anyone else does care, I source mine out of Hong Kong. You might do better in other regions.

I think they're actually pretty good. Lots of notes reminiscent of tea. Sometimes they can be pretty rough looking and I always keep a draw tool near by for the Mananitas because they plug. But at the price point, they're a guilt free fun smoke with aging potential.

Wow, sounds like it's smoking incredible so early. I love the 46 gauge on cigars too. Sigh.... guess I need to make the purchase lol.

Your tasting notes are quite a bit different from what I got on mine (box from 2016) but I also didn't get any sweet cream. Tons of leather and tobacco spices. I'm going to lay it the rest down for a year and see what happens. Thanks for the review!

It's a problem I have with a lot of skinny Cubans. So I just decided to invest in a PerfecDraw and now I don't have to deal with it anymore.

Especially the ones they use for the ER's. I like this red/white/gold combo just fine, but I would really miss that gold shine.

Another LCDH cigar that I haven't seen anyone bring up here is the PL Picadores. It's another confusing one because it doesn't use the double band, but it is a LCDH cigar. I think it's a little too early to add to your wiki project, but I could see this cigar becoming a staple of the PL marca. I picked up my first box a few weeks ago. I forget the exact code but it's 2017. They are some of the best looking cigars I've ever purchased. My guess (hope) is that they'll be around for a long time. PL needed a robusto in my opinion. I know the petite corona is similar in size but buying cabs isn't for everyone.

Habanos just isn't going to stop with these bigger ring gauges ? It's not that I completely hate them, it's just disappointing that we're starting to no longer see many cigars under 50. The 44's just have such a great feel to them and I personally have less burn issues with the narrower gauges.

Oh very cool! I didn't know they already had 7 years on them. Did you find the Fonseca's to be too mild? That seems to be the beef people have with them. I actually love Fonseca, especially the #1's. I seem to be one of the last people out there that enjoys the mild side of Cuba ? Beautiful humidor too! I love the idea you have for it. Thanks again for all the details. Four kids sounds pricey haha. Great choice with Partagas though. My first ever CC purchase was the Partagas Coronas Junior A/T. The best thing I learned about smoking Cubans on a budget was patience. You'll find a lot of people that smoke one as soon as the postman drops them off. That often results in wasting a cigar. Then they try another after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months etc... I always wait 6 months under my ideal humidor conditions, then I give the first one a try. Based on what I taste, I decide the pace that I'm going to smoke the rest at. I'll also set 1-3 aside for long-term aging if I think they'll continue to improve. If you need a daily smoke, there are always acceptable non-Cuban options in the $2-4 range to help pass the time.
