  1. This list doesn't suprise me at all. If I were to give someone new to the hobby 10 cigars to cut thier teeth on, 9 of the 10 would be from the top 10 on this list. I pretty much stick to sub 50 RG Cohibas and HU's anymore, but this list represents the staples in my opinion.
  2. Search the forum, there are many posts like this with good advice. Mine is go with the 'flagships'. Monte #2 PSD#4 or shorts HdM Epi #1 or 2 RASS or RAG HU 46 Boli Beli and/or PC, RC CORO, really any Cohiba R&J Churchill ERDM CS LG MDO anything SP Beli and the list goes on...this is a good start though.
  3. Sorry to hear this news. God bless him and may he rest in peace.
  4. Not buying at the moment, but Rob is the most savvy retailer out there. PSP, HQ, Online Humidor, contests, reviews, Hot Boxes, posts from The Festival, makes all others look like boobs in thier grasp (or lack thereof) of marketing and service. Always blows my mind that other retailers can't grasp simple marketing concepts outside of once a month price reductions, and service is simply the concept of order fullfillment and nothing more.
  5. Eventually you could have every cigar in current production listed here. I like this approach, try the mainstays, then move on from there. Dip #2, CORO, any Siglo, HU 46, RASS, Party PSD#4, 898, ERDM CS, HdM Epi 1 or 2, Boli RC or PC, PLPC, Punch Punch, R&J Churchill or one of the Exhibicions, Trini Fundi, any LGC, any VR, etc, etc. Lots to explore...
  6. Prez, not blowing smoke, you guys have been killing it in terms of quality, haven't gotten it wrong with me yet. Back on topic, agree, don't get the R&J SC either although I have tried.
  7. Partagas (fill in the blank). Have tried and tried, just not my marca.
  8. He should have said, "I want to appologize for the pathetic team that is the Raiders and the fact they lost the battle for my attention with said hotdog."
  9. I like the old school reviews, this was a great read.
  10. Another vote for Mag 46, but really, I have never been sent a box from Czar that wasn't steller.
  11. Prez did you have a chance to sample a pre-release?
  12. HU #2's are probably my favorite cigars, bar none. If you get a good box you can let sit for a while, or a box that is on with a little age, it will be the hardest box to keep your hands off of when you open the humi.
  13. While we are at it, on the band the end of the loop on Cuba crosses into the 'C', combined with the fact that AAVKK pointed out that the font is wrong. Notice how the loop stops at the 'C' in the box above.
  14. Hmmm given prices today looks like i could get one box of the following CORO HU#2 RASS and a decent bottle of scotch. If I was only given 6 months to live, this would be a good six months, well until the scotch ran out that is.
  15. 07 RAE, regular production HU #2 08 toss up between CORO and Mag 46
  16. That stinks. I have that same code and the cigars produce a ton of smoke and damn near knock you over with the RA profile.
  17. Seems to be a lot of praise for the R&J SC lately, Prez, Ken, Smithy...how about a review??
  18. Yes!! I love it.
  19. Good luck, keep on them. Some sollace knowing there is a vendor or two out there who actually take pride in thier business...
  20. I had a fellow from another forum send me a new Mag 46 with the second band, looks just like the 50 band, and I have every confidence this is not a fake. Did take me aback at first.
  21. Good marketing here, pretty easy value add for HSA, 3-pack I assume. Prez, do you all plan on getting the Mag 50 and 46 tubos as well?
  22. Ken, Baer was a CIA handler working in the middle east during the cold war (thus not really relevant to the topic of author so appologize). Book outlines the run up to 911 and a foot soldiers view on the need and proper way to handle the intelligence apparatus. Again, quick read and very good. Cheers, mike
  23. Don't know if this is relevant, but along a similiar vien I think, Ken have you red See No Evil by Rober Baer? One of the best books I have ever read.
