  1. ST Dupont Maxijet (can get for well under $175) classy and reliable AF!!! Ive owned a dozen mid-range lighters and they all eventually go bad, some sooner than later. Xikar cutter with the difference. Can get a metal tear drop style if you want to feel the weight in your hand or a fiberblass version (which I prefer)
  2. Upmann Connie A and Connie 1, Siglo III (lots of em) Party shorts (at times were available for $110/box) RASS, PSD4 and Fundadores. Had to edit. Almost forgot Monte #4.
  3. A good shower before bed is the best thing you can do. It gets the smoke out of your hair and off your hands, cleans out sinuses that might be irritated. We all love cigars. When I'm in the zone, cooking up ribs or watching a game on the patio, I'll have 2-4 in an afternoon evening. But when I'm done, I'm done and don't want stale cigar sticking to me. I have a beard so maybe that's what bothers me, but a good shower always helps me.
  4. No direct experience trying to get the taste out of the cigars themselves. I would isolate and surround with cedar strips. Wait at least 30-60 days and then try one and see. On the wineador itself, you probably have seen other posts, but when I first went to large Coleman coolers, the rock solid advice I came across was stuffing them with crumpled newspaper for a week or so. Swap out every couple of days.
  5. J&J, a great call. They make a mean mojito and also do a pretty good tequila or mescal tasting if you are in to that.
  6. I have seen that bending out before in one of these. Not mine, but I have seen it. I have had several $20-$40 "premium" lighters Xikar, Colibri etc and they all seem to fail. After the Dupont, I prefer a $15 Scorch Torch or a $8 Ronson Jetlite (these are particularly reliable and durable).
  7. Hey all! I don't post much, but read a lot. ST Dupont Maxi Jet -- you can get two for under $500. Hands down the best, most reliable torch lighter I've ever owned. I have 2 (sadly lost one a few years ago) Torch lighters can be the most frustrating cigar accessory and these are durable and reliable. Fit in the pocket and can go anywhere. I smoke a lot of cigars on the golf course and they handle wind pretty well, have gotten soaked in the rain, dropped, used by guys that try to stick the cigar inside the lighter when lighting. Works every time.
  8. UNSCENTED silica kitty litter does the trick. at a fraction of the cost. When I had 2 huge coleman coolers for storage, that is what I used. Put them into old cigar boxes in 3 different spots in the coolers with small micro computer fans set on a timer to make sure the humidity circulated. Once stable, rarely had to do anything. Would spritz with distilled water as needed. In addition to old boxes, can use fish tank filter bags too.
  9. on the reg production side, 2011 H.U. Connie 1. one box left. Also, Boli Simones. Simply delightful, flavorful, complex cigar.
  10. Agree with the comments. You are probably in good shape. Only thing I would consider doing different is putting a couple of calibrated hygrometers in the cooler BEFORE you do anything else. Get a handle on the real rh in there before trying to raise or adjust it. Should give you an idea where the rh has been the past several months. Also, smoke a couple and see how they are. Good luck.
  11. For me, ginger Ale is a good pairing. Light complimentary flavors. Not quite plain soda, not syrupy coke. Iced tea with a generous splash of lemonade is pretty good too.
  12. Agreed. maybe I missed the point of the OP. I can be slow at times. I think they will pop in '17, that's all.
  13. two words: Club. Allones. To me, they are going to be like the Connie A were a couple of years ago. Might need a little more down time, but already smoking fantastic IMO.
  14. I had this dilemma and Macguyvered a solution. I have 4 mini fans in my 2 coolers. Here are the fans. the cords are fairly long. I route them out through the drain cap that surprisingly will screw back on keeping a good seal. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00080G0BK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use this to set intermittent air circulation. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HEY300/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this to distribute power to each of the fans. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J5DS8NE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 works pretty good for me. have one cooler laying flat. have one fan on each side. have one cooler upright with drawers and shelves, have one on top and one on bottom. Good luck!
