I was fortunate to grab one of the recent weekend 48:48 Sampler offerings from our host. The aroma upon opening was absolutely overwhelming, gorgeous to say the least! The sheen on these cigars is something to behold too, just perfect! They are PSP or High End HQ. I picked up the Robusto (Piramide and Churchill offerings were also available) as I wanted to give this vitola a workout after spending time on mainly 42 ring cigars, it's a phase I'm going through. For those of you who ordered these sampler varieties, you are in for a treat when it arrives!

The amazing thing about this photo is that the cigars sort off, well...just fell into place when I unpacked them. I took a closer look and thought...wow, that looks like the order I will smoke them from left to right, starting with the mild HdM Epi 2 and finishing with the Bolivar RC (Okay, I concede that the cigar strength profile of the cigars is not a perfect gradient from mild to full-bodied, but it's close!)

I have tried most marcas other than El Rey Del Mundo, Vegas Robaina, Juan Lopez and Saint Luis Rey. I can't wait to rest these babies and go through them one-by-one. From left to right they are:

1. Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Number 2

2. Vegas Robaina Famoso

3. El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme

4. Juan Lopez Seleccion number 2

5. H. Upmann Connoisseur Number 1

6. Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill

7. Saint Luis Rey Regio

8. Cohiba Robusto

9. Partagas Serie D Number 4

10. Bolivar Royal Corona

What order would you smoke these?

I ordered the high end sampler that had the Sir Winston, Connie A, Siglo VI, amongst a host of other high end sticks, some of which I've never tried. The only problem is they took about 4 weeks to land so they'll be stuck in the humidor for awhile. My thought process was to smoke the marcas from brands I've never tried and then getting the ones I smoke the most frequently.

Gorgeous, John. I'm of no help as to the order. The order they're in looks as good as any to my eyes. I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I have the piramide/belicoso sampler en route, and can't wait to get my hands on them. Almost went in for the robusto sampler as well, seeing that pic makes me wish I had.

I would probably smoke the CoRo last with all of the love it is getting here on FOH. Might as well save the best for last.

HdM, SLR, HU Connie, Part SD4, Boli, RyJ. Age the rest except the JL - throw that one in the trash. ;)

Actually, garbandz idea is the best!

Awaiting the arrival of my samplers too. Cannot wait...

As to the order of which to smoke 'em... I'll be picking out the ones that I expect will go well ROTT first but that will depend on the box codes. I'd love to dive into my Esplendidos first but suspect that will benefit most from leaving a while!

Wow, if I could only find a box of BRC and ERDM CS with those wrappers. Smoke them in any order you want. I'd save the CoRo for a special occasion though. Also, I wouldn't necessarily smoke any back to back.

WOW, clearly I messed up by not jumping on this.....UUGGGHHH! Congrats on a great sampler, and I would smoke in whatever order you want, but I'm in agreement with the rest, leave the CORO for last. Dress up, take the wife out, wait for that perfect moment and then break that baby out!!

Cheers,

Seth

Thanks guys, I do appreciate your expert opinions. I would imagine that as I travel along my cigar journey I will settle back where I started, with 42 ring petit corona cigars, but I am looking forward to making the time (i.e. 90 minutes minimum) to smoke these larger-ringed offerings. I'll smoke the CoRo last.

Put a blank band over the bands on these .

Close your eyes, stick your hand into the humi, and pick one.

Cut,light ,and smoke it ,and remove the blank band after half way.

Best Regards.........

Depending on how I do in this year's blind smoking competition I may have to use this training regiment for next year!

The only unfortunate thing about this is the way samplers are packed -- just sandwiched between 2 pieces of cardbord, then wrapped very tightly. I had 3 broken feet on my purchase before. Looks like neither of you did, and more power to you, but I was a bit crestfallen . . .

Oh no Rick, that's not good usually the crew at Czars does a fantastic job at packaging any type of delivery - suggest if not already drop a friendly msg to Rob ?!?

The only thing I noticed on my sampler was my Churchill turned into a square cigar rather than a round one, but I don't mind.

I recently received a sampler (not the one above but a sampler none the less) and I'd agree with the above. It was well packed and I didn't have any troubles. And it smells fantastic. I wish I had thrown in on the recent 48:48 samplers but I have bought a few recent boxes so I'm certainly not going to complain!
