cigaraholic
SLR Regios EPR OCT08 Appearance: Beautiful dark oily wrapper with that iridescent glow that says, I'm full of flavor. Construction: Rock solid, 11.5 gr. Aroma: Very heavy roasted tobacco, what I imagine a cigar factory smells like. Draw: Open, with a rich pipe tobacco flavor. Burn: Very good. Body: Medium-full. Time: 50 min. Drink: One sip of coffee. Opening: Heavy carmel and chocolate with a honey sweetness that coats the mouth. 1/3: Flavors stayed consistent from the opening, which was fine with me. 2/3: It just kept coating my mouth with a buttery sweetness and roasted tobacco. Final: It started to dry my mouth out, then the sweetness came back with a heavy peanut butter flavor. The smell of this cigar was so good I left the room a few times so I could come back and smell this wonderful cigar. If I could inhale I would have. There's a ton of flavor still locked up in this cigar that needs time to come out. Everything I expect in a great young cigar. Score: 90-
jfury76
This is one of my favorites for its pleasant sweetness coupled with rich Vuelta Abajo tobacco taste. When they're on, they're some of the best medium-bodied sticks out there.
roughrider
How are the Churchills or DC?
SnakeHips
Thank for the review. I like the Serie 'A' and Churchill and have never tried these. Too bad I'm not a fan of the vitola.
Ellery
Great review, personally love these cigars. Nice quick smoke, great flavor and finish.
cigaraholic
I'm not a fan of robustos either but this box would convert anyone. I usually smoke the Serie A and was lucky to get 4 spectacular boxes of churchills in 05 when Castro became ill and I thought I better stock up. 1 down 3 to go. I've never had the DC, cab of 50 is a lot of ponying up.
thechenman
I think the current SLR Regios out there are some of the best robustos I've sampled. An awesome cigar.

bunburyist
Great review - makes me want to smoke some of mine. You know, I had the usual conversation with a occasional cigar smoking friend, who's theory is 'cohiba cohiba cohiba'. Struggled to explain that there are some excellent, often better smokes out there for almost half the price. Saint Luis Rey, Juan Lopez, Ramon Allones... he wasn't sold though. Ho hum. Might just give him one with the labels swapped...
ksblazer
My late 08 regios are smoking quite well too. Just trying to keep out of the box so I can see how they will be in a few years.
